ALLEN BACK ON TRACK

When defenceman Bryan Allen awoke Wednesday, the rookie expected to accompany the Canucks to San Jose. His right ankle didn't cooperate.

Allen suffered a swollen ankle after blocking a shot last Tuesday against Calgary at GM Place.

"A shot came from the side boards and hit me right on the ankle," recalled Allen who skated for the first time Monday following the injury and subsequent treatment for swelling. "It was weird because I played the rest of the game because it happened in the third period and it was just a little sore.

"You want to put it aside and hopefully nothing will come of it but when I got home it got pretty sore."
