Walker RAINBOW IN SPACE I know it's hard to trust The net can be a bust Investigate, if you must Don't let friendship turn to dust. Emotions get lost in space It's hard to show your grace I think we've made a case Having not a voice or face. There are precious few I can look up to Like a rainbow's beautiful view Please, let me admire you! Copyright 2002 by Margaret I. Walker BOOMER'S WORLD Boomers serve as witnesses to God's omnipresent love, acknowledge splended gifts flowing down from above. They are generous in giving, graceful in receiving, caring and loving, loyal and forgiving. Copyright 2002 by Margaret I. Walker SELF MATTERS Validate yourself without hesitation. Don't live by others' expectations. They would mold and redefine you, way beneath your intrinsic value. They prey on your body and soul, try to keep you from being whole. It seems they are so needy, they become selfish and greedy They want you as their own, providing complete satisfaction. Never abandon your dignity for the gratification of others. Elevate yourself; self matters. Bask in your own glory! Copyright 2002 by Margaret I. Walker TEARS When tears flow from feelings, there could be many reasons. Maybe news was bad or sad, or maybe you were glad. I love people who shed tears and are not ashamed to be seen Reflecting they are capable of being human and vulnerable. This affect, stems from emotions, is brought to another dimension, when tears run for another, perhaps your brother or Mother Deep feelings bring sympathy for someone who dearly matters Precious tears of empathy should be saved in a bottle and labeled "Love Drops From Heaven" Copyright 2002 by Margaret I. Walker LOVE IN CYBERSPACE If you meet someone in cyberspace, and come to know their soul. You find it kind and gentle, then something begins to grow. Without any voice or face, that naked soul, embraced, reveals in all its splendor, the essence of its creator. Hence, we grow to love that soul, regardless of where it resides. Color, size and shape, play no role. Those walls fall by the wayside. If, perchance you meet in the flesh (primary form and substantal matter) and your hearts and souls do mesh, your spirit should feel gladder! Copyright 2002 by Margaret I. Walker I LOVE TO LOVE I love to love. How about you? It makes me feel good inside: Happy Giddy Silly Willy Nilly It makes me want to: Dance Romance Take a chance Give a flirtive glance Then, I want to: Help you Guide you Stand beside you And give myself to cry to. Copyright 2002 by Margaret I. Walker STAYIN ADRIFT When you get right down to it, we're all just the same, struggling to make it, regardless of our game. It's great to use our gifts, doing what we enjoy to remain adrift, through talents we employ. Copyright 2002 by Margaret I. Walker RAINBOW IN THE MIST When all seems bleak, patience has reached its peak, despair looms all around, we feel off the ground --- God sends us a rainbow so we will surely know, when the storm has ceased, our pain will be released. Yes, after the storm, our souls are reborn, our hearts will be aglow -- Out of the Mist Comes the Rainbow! Copyright 2002 by Margaret I. Walker LADY ADORNED All that glitters is not gold. Behind the mask, a woman scorned. She can dazzle, jewelled, yet cold. A dichotomy, her soul is torn. On the outside, oh so bold, she struts and swaggers, be forewarned. On the inside, I am told, she is weeping, my lady mourns. Behind the mask, she hides and quivers, her true self, she's afraid to reveal. Her tears flow into rivers. It's time, time to heal. Peel away your golden cage. I'll look through your brilliant eyes to your soul and not your face. Be still, there will be no demise, Oh, Beautiful, Unadorned Lady! Copyright 2002 by Margaret I. Walker AS I LAY DOWN TO SLEEP Now, as I lay down to sleep, I pray the Lord will gently keep you embraced in His loving arms, away from stress and any harm. I pray that He will light your way to joy and happiness everyday, and, in His mercy, grant you a peace that's still and quiet and brings relief. Copyright 2002 by Margaret I. Walker LIVING IN THE PROJECTS Living in the Projects, we were poor, yet, rich. Rich in friends and unity, with a sense of belonging to a safe community. Rich in caring and sharing with families connected by dreams, and a work ethic that made them weary. But, after their work was done, even our parents had fun; Horseshoes, volleyball, or a 5 K run, till the setting of the sun. Us kids played hide-and-seek, cowboys and Indians, hopscotch and jacks. We skated and rode with no hands on bikes. And, oh yeh, we made those mud pies. Living in the Project, We were rich, but poor. Saturday nights were the best. It was like a big fest. All gathered around a fire, laughing and singing, our Project choir. Now, the Project torn down, those families are officials of the town. Most are now rich and rich, but, never, ever forget their heritage! Copyright 2002 by Margaret I. Walker MY LITTLE ALBUM I started a little album awhile ago. It contains pictures and little stories of those who've captured my soul. Some, have gone on, to their glory! Some are very young, some oh so old. Some are family, but most are not. Five are teachers, low and behold. One is called "Sister" and two titled "Doc". Some are black and some caucasian. Some are men, but most are women. Two are counselors, helping children. And one, of course, my only son. Most I've known for a lifetime. Others were more fleeting. One hasn't found the right time to arrange for a meeting. When I gaze at my little album of beautiful souls I admire and respect, I'm so thankful I've loved them and have been so wonderfully blessed. Each time I gently close it, I hold all in my heart for awhile. They indelibly touch my spirit. Through my humble tears, comes a smile. I tenderly tie a lace ribbon around those God has given as My Beloved! Copyright 2002 by Margaret I. Walker JUST AN OLD LADY My books are all dusty and my knees are getting rusty but, I can still love. My eyes are getting droopy and my heart's kind of loopy but, I can still love. My fingers are going crooked and my ankles are all swollen but, I can still love. I'm just an old lady. Please, don't be afraid of me, cause, I can still love! Copyright 2002 by Margaret I. Walker ANOMY Why are there so many ironic things in life? So many blocked goals So many things almost within reach but, we just can't get to So much unrecuited love, love lost and waisted So many mountains to climb rivers to cross frontiers to conquer So much sadness? I guess it's because of me, I'm in a state of Anomy. Copyright 2002 by Margaret I. Walker COWPOKES Get-along little cowpokes, show off your skills. Lasso them with your rope. It's the chase that's the thrill. Ride, Ride, Ride Yippeei oh Yiaa Get-along little cowboy. You're a natural born rider and it gives you such joy! Go, ride beside her. Walker NEVER HAD A SISTER I never had a sister to care, share and fix hair I never had a sister and I miss her. I never had a sister to laugh and cry with or tell a secret wish. I never had a sister and I miss her. I never had a sister to talk about boys and swap clothes. I never had a sister and I miss her. I've had surrogate sisters friends, wives of brothers and even my Mother. But, I never had a sister and I miss her. Copyright 2002 by Margaret I. Walker GOD'S LITTLE MIRACLES Miracles happen every day Only a coicidence, you say They happen to folks like you and me If only we could see Were you ever pondering a great mystery of life then someone came to your side and commenced to answering I did Did you ever wish a dear friend would call then, the phone began to ring off the wall I did Ever pray about a decision Then, someone gave a randition Everything you needed to know to decide and then to grow I did These aren't just coincidences They are God's little miracles Coming from his Holy Spirit through His angels on earth! I will honor the dove: Wherever I am Whatever I am doing Whomever I am with I will be a vessel of your love. Oh, Prince of Peace, your doves will be released to soar on high and illuminate the sky. I make a solemn oath, to do want You want most. Make me into a dove and a channel of Your love. Let me be Your Princess, Princess of Love and Peace! Amen and Amen!! Copyright 2002 by Margaret I. Walker LIFE IS PASSING BY Time is so precious and fleeting It coincides with hearts beating and the rhythm of the sea Tick, Tick, Ticking We try to control and harness it to keep it from passing by We know not how many minutes we have left before we die Have you noticed being selfish with this element of live savoring each moment as it quietly passes by Have you noticed you're in a hurry to do everything you want saying "no" because you're stingy with each and every second Have you noticed an aversion to sleep with intermitant gulps of life making memories to keep as special frames in time Measure your breaths carefully Don't save the best for last Live a life of beauty before all of your time has past as Nothing can stop the Tick, tick, ticking Of Life Passing By Copyright 2002 by Margaret I. Walker LONE WOLF (Haiku Style) I don't want to harm I just want a place to be Please don't be alarmed. I'm out here alone I want to survive, like you Please, leave me alone. Hiding seems futile Why am I on your hit list I'm so beautiful! Copyright 2002 by Margaret I. Walker ANIMALS OF THE WORLD God loves all the animals, all the animals of the world, big or small, short or tall. He loves them all, all the animals of the world. God created all that lives, blew his breath to begin all life. Ending any is not our right. He invited us into the light. Creation is in perfect balance. Each and every creature has it's place. We're not to make a judgement of value, or threaten it's homeostasis. Each creature, land or sea, is unique, but in perfect harmony. Each has exactly what it needs, and each is beautiful in it's own way! God loves all the animals, all the animals of the world, big or small, short or tall. He loves them all, all the animals of the world! Copyright 2002 by Margaret I. Walker I DREAMED OF YOU I had a dream about you last night. You were extraordinarily beautiful and incased in a heavenly golden aura. You gave me a gloriously sweet smile, so magnificent, it made me bow. You gently held your hand out to me. It was though you'd been waiting for me to come and take your hand, so we would be friends until the end. To my delight, you even spoke to me. I felt my heart skip some beats. Your voice was so gentle and soft, my spirit and soul soared aloft. As I came closer to be near you, your aura surrounded me too. We were both encased in a gold, that only God should behold. It was only a dream I had last night. It was a phantasm, an illusion, but I hope it was a premonition, of times to come, better times, still ahead, glorious times - - when a dream is fulfilled before we're in heaven, a wish is granted, and I actually see you, hear you, and hold YOU Copyright 2002 by Margaret I. Walker FLY AWAY Little fairy princess, so innocent, in a state of bliss - - Awake and spread your wings. Fly away, fly away and share your dream. Fly from one to another. Tell the little ones they do belong. Tell them they are worthy, they are beautiful. Twinkle like a firefly, then, Fly, fly away. Copyright 2002 by Margaret I. Walker HAVE FAITH Have Faith, my friend. Everything will work out in the end. All may not be as expected. Your goals may become infected, but, you will see my friend, everything will turn out in the end. Copyright 2002 by Margaret I. Walker ALTRUISM How many are altruistic? Only a few, I'm sure. It requires sacrifice, and motives that are pure. How many have you helped, done things for and given to? Altruism developed, seeks no reciprocity. But, can anything be this pure? Even, heart-felt thanks, I'm sure, give one some pleasure. So, how can we measure Altruism? Copyright 2002 by Margaret I. Walker LOVE CHAIN I've been noticing a strange phenomenon. When love is based on admiration, there's a kind of hierarchy of love, where each loves someone above, in the chain of love. Admiration is born from many things, like intelligence or the quality of caring. Nevertheless, the admiration evokes love that flows up from one to another, in the chain of love. There's a fault built into this system. For, who will love the one at the bottom? The one at the top has no one to look up to. So, this kind of chain, really won't do. This chain, chain of love. Copyright 2002 by Margaret I. Walker AUTONOMY Don't you think it's about time, to be totally autonomous? Self-governing is not a crime. Don't let your life turn to dust. Be what you want to be! Go where you want to go! See what you want to see! Let your heart glow!! Don't let anyone block you. You have a right to be you. So, do what you want to do! Start your life anew!! You are the only one you will live with all the days of your life. You have an obligation to yourself. Let me introduce you to Autonomy Copyright 2002 by Margaraet I. Walker IN REMEMBRANCE OF 9/11/01 A date that will go down in history. Why, Why, Why, is the mystery. Why, over 2,000 people had to die, because of some psychopath's lie. A day we will never forget, nor the families they beget. A day we stood still; Through our hearts, ran a chill. We will remember forever, even as we endeavor to make life better. We will remember forever and ever. Copyright 2002 by Margaret I. Walker SOUNDS FOR MY HEART For the most part, I take my music, soft and beautiful, from and to the heart, and yes, lyrics that are meaningful. I like music, slow and gentle. I love to hear sweet sounds, sounds that surround, bells, chimes, Galloways flute and the French harp Kenny G., the saxophone, and even a little baroque. More sounds I like to hear, sounds pleasant to my ears, are the Chinese Pipa and music box, and the magic of Zamfer's wind pipes. I love rhythms , rhythms of rain, African drums and the ocean. Sounds that lift my spirit are cheery and joyful. Chirping birds have merit, and the passion of their love calls. Oh, didn't mean to forget the loons. And, even I, can whistle a happy tune! When I was young, soft male voices were pleasing to my auditory senses. I was thrilled by Mario Lanza! Later, I wanted "love" in every stanza-- Julio Iglesias and Englebert, pulled the strings of my heart! Suddenly, some female voices touch me with their music, soft and gentle voices, that are oh, so expressive! Faith Hill and Shania Twain; Alecia Keys and Carly Simon; and, of course, Dido Armstrong, and the sounds of Dion! Now, I've begun to study jazz. Am experiencing the raz-a-ma-taz and pizzaz. Don't know why I missed it before, till someone opened up the door. Just got a new collection: John Coltrane and Billie Holiday; Miles Davis and Dizzy Gillespie; Hancock, Brubeck and Monk; Louis and the "Duke" To the best of my recollection. Then, there's music for the soul. I've been told that singing spirituals is the highest form of prayer. Think I'll just leave it there! Copyright 2002 by Margaret I. Walker HEAVEN ON EARTH Such beauty here on earth, for us, God gave birth. It almost makes me gasp; feel I'm in heaven, at last! Velvet clouds overseeing such a glorious scene. Majestic mountains stand tall. Oh, the beauty of it all! Trees symbolize life, while branches represent our connectedness. Water, set in motion, stirs up my emotions. It's the water that fascinates me. Our life blood, as it be. For life is always moving, swirling and changing. And that reflection, simply hypnotizes me. The mirror, reflecting the real. What can that mean? Copyright 2002 by Margaret I. Walker LITTLE ANGEL Welcome home sweet angel! I'm sure you're Daddy has missed you. Your sweet smile and sky blue eyes, will brighten up all of his days! How was your ride on the Amtrak train? Here in Ohio, we've been having some rain. Your new Mommy can't wait for you to arrive. When she sees you, I'm sure she will cry. She'll cry because she's so happy! You'll light up the California Valley! Little Angel, you're home now! Mommy and Daddy will love you now! They are so full of joy now! Run and play in the sun now!! Copyright 2002 by Margaret I. Walker HUBER HEIGHTS, OHIO Largest community of brick homes in the USA Known for it's unending growth! A place to expand horizons! and chosen for it's diversity, by me Copyright 2002 by Margaret I. Walker RAINBOW BRIDGE The bridge of many colors, is not ornamental, it's real. It brings colors together and so, I send an appeal. Would you walk half a mile and meet me in the middle? I'll give you a great big smile and put an end to this riddle. Come and take my hand. You can trust me till the end. We'll color our own rainbow band, across the span of this vast land. Step onto the bridge, bridge of many colors. The Glorious Rainbow Bridge! I'll be waiting there. I'll be waiting there, with my arms wide open, waiting for you right there, to come and let me hold you! Copyright 2002 by Margaret I. Walker ANGEL ON HIGH Standing so gloriously on your staircase to heaven, you watch over your angels, to us, you have given. You sent them to earth to comfort and guide us. While on our search, your angels surround us. They bring words from God, send us down the right path, push, pull, and prod us to our dreams, at last! Dear Angel on High, Thank Our Lord for me. Our Father Almighty, has richly blessed me! To Him go the... Honor, glory, and Victory!! Copyright 2002 by Margaret I. Walker BROWN, BROWN, BROWN I guess I'll choose the color brown. No one else may want it around. Not too appealing, does it sound. Brown makes me think of mud, icky things like worms and bugs, things you really don't want to hug. Yet, I hug my friend who's brown, and I love to have her around, because she is really very sound. Brown seems so very bland, like cold oatmeal and raison bran, things you really might not want and... yet, it takes black and yellow to make brown, and a tinge of red, if you have it around. The more red and yellow, the better brown sounds. Think of good things colored brown, your son's hair; your duaghter's eyes, so round, the better and better, brown sounds! Brown, Brown, Brown Sounds like I'll let brown stay around!!! Copyright by Margaret I. Walker THRU HIS EYES (Wolf Speaking) I stand before you, my spirit unbroken Thoughts pass between that remain unspoken Tho, your kind brought me to the brink of extinction Once again, I will rise to my place of distinction I forgive your ignorance, that you could not see All I ever wanted was the right to be To live wild and free, as in God's great plan Not to be destroyed by the hand of man We both seek peace, all over our land This we can accomplish, if we go hand-in- hand So go now in peace, my brother And try your best to forgive one another Copyright 2002 by Harry R. Walker IN THE END Have too many things to do? Too many things on your mind? Has everything overwhelmed you? Just take, one step at a time, one thing at a time, one day at a time. Trouble working something out right? Too many things on your plate? Set something troublesome aside. I say, do not anticipate, things will fall in place, work out in the end, I say. Have faith, hope, and patience. Everything comes out IN THE END Copyright 2002 by Margaret I. Walker STORMS OF LIFE Sometimes I find myself twirling, swirling in the turmoil of life... rocking to and fro out of control till I right myself. Sometimes I find myself heaving, weaving in the storms of life... leaning left then right riding the tide till I calm myself. Copyright 2002 by Margaret I. Walker EMBRACE THE LITTLE PEOPLE I may be little in stature. You might think I don't matter. I may be little in wealth, but, I have my mental health. I may be small, not very tall. You may not see me at all. You may not know my name. I haven't attained any fame. I may be uneducated and simple, but, please, don't belittle. That makes me be gruff, and run off in a huff. You see, I have a heart of gold, and not an ego, so bold. I know God loves me, as much as the powers that be. So, please, don't belittle. Embrace the little people! Copyright 2002 by Margaret I. Walker SWEET INNOCENCE What can be more innocent, than a sweet little girl, praying to be blessed, while she twirls her curls? You hover over the flowers, wings flapping a hundred-miles-an-hour, to taste that sweet nectar, from your beak, so long and narrow. I'm so glad you came around. I can hear your humming sound. Walker FAMILIES Resting by a sparkling pond, mind bobbing to and fro, I hummed their wedding song, and prayed their love would grow. Resting on a little bench, before the blazing sunset, I wondered about God's plans for them, and what lives they would beget. A graceful family of swans, quietly glided along, I was entranced and in awe, wondered if I will be a Grandma. How many new lives, will I come to know and love, precious lives, He gives, before, I sing my swan song. Copyright 2002 by Margaret I. Your sure and steady ray, shows us Your way. You are the star in our todays, the sun in our tomorrows! We see the Life beam. We will follow Your lead. You light up our lives; make our lights shine! Walker WE SHALL OVERCOME Hurled into a cold world of abuse and misues, I raised my heavy head, to stand against it all, and shouted, "I will overcome"! Discriminated against, in a world not mine, I raised my heavy heart, stood up for my rights, and shouted, "I will overcome"! Bullied by tyrants, in a game of their own, I raised my heavy soul, took a stand alone, and chanted, "I shall overcome"! In a world of my own making, free, just, and right, I spread my wings and beakened you to join me, and we sang, "We shall overcome"! Copyright 2002 by Margaret I. Walker PONDERING In the still of the night, I take my solitude, to contemplate the mysteries of life. I ponder about new life, death, loss, violence and freedom, and the meaning of it all. I ponder about progress and ageing, continued evolution, and that everything changes. I ponder about disparities in maturity levels between peoples, and what is the purpose. I ponder about love, hope and happiness, how to bring world peace, and establish utopias. In the still of the night, I take my solitude, to contemplate the mysteries of life. Walker CHRISTMAS DAY Twas the day of Christmas!! My heart was all aflutter, cause Grandma and Grandpa were coming. I loved them like no others. They were sweet and kind and fun to be with. They taught me and loved me and shared their beliefs. Grandpa was so cheery, with a Santa nose and red cheeks. I watched for their car till my eyes became blurry. Perched on a stone wall, I listened for their beep. Our house was warm and cozy. Dinner, with all the trimmings, was waiting. Beep, beep, I heard their horn! Christmas was the day "LOVE" was born!! Why must you leave and cause me to grieve? We exchanged tokens. Now, my heart is broken. There's now a huge hole left in my soul. You chose to depart, and have broken my heart.
