RE: 2001 Municipal Transportation Grant Application for
Oregon Pike/Newport Road Intersection Improvements
Dear Mr. Wanner:
The Lancaster County Planning Commission regrets to inform you that West Earl Township was not awarded a 2001 Municipal Transportation Grant (MTG) for the Oregon Pike/Newport Road Intersection Improvements project. This was a very competitive year and only 15 out of 34 grant applications received funding. You may reapply next year for the same project if you wish. Some projects have been awarded grants after two or three unsuccessful attempts.
The applications were reviewed by the Transportation Technical Advisory Committee (TTAC). The committee recommended grant awards to the Lancaster County Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) based upon the ranking system contained in the MTG application guidelines and available funding. The MPO reviewed and approved the grant recommendations and forwarded them to the Lancaster County Board of Commissioners for the actual grant awards on 11 July 2001.
Thank you for participating in the 2001 MTG program by submitting the grant application. We encourage you to reapply in 2002 for this or some other transportation project that meets the general guidelines for project eligibility. If you have any questions, please contact Mary H. Bushong or me at 717-299-8333.
Sincerely,
Christopher R. Neumann
