House of Representatives
Room 404A, South Office Building
Harrisburg, PA 17120-2020
Dear Mr. Zimmerman:
Thank you for your letter of December 7, 1998, concerning congestion at the intersection of SR 0272 and SR 0772 in West Earl Township, Lancaster County.
The District Traffic Unit has reviewed this intersection, including the signal timing, and have determined that the peak hour congestion can be relieved by revising the green time, allowing more vehicles to pass on each cycle on the SR 0772 approaches. This signal is owned and maintained by West Earl Township. We will contact the township and make arrangements to make the timing changes.
At this time, we do not have any major projects programmed that would impact this area. However, we do work closely with the Lancaster County Planning Commission to determine areas of concern and establish priorities for future projects.
If you have any questions, please call Randy Appleman in the District Traffic Unit at 717-772-0033.
Very truly yours,
Barry G. Hoffman, P.E.
District Engineer
