Welcome
Welcome to the first edition of the West Earl Newsletter. The West Earl Newsletter is intended to provide township residents with community news and information. Any resident wishing to contribute information or news to future editions can contact the township administrative office at 859-3201.
Interested in Local Government?
The township is always seeking interested residents to serve on West Earl’s various boards and authorities. Anyone interested in serving on a board or authority can call the township administrative office at 859-3201.
We’ve Moved!
The township administrative and police offices have temporarily relocated to the Schaum’s Corner Retail Center, Suite #4237. This will be our "home" until the renovations on the municipal building are complete. Unfortunately, because this is a temporary office, there are no facilities for accepting payments after hours.

Building Project Status Report
Speaking of the municipal building, the township has undertaken a renovation/addition project of the facility located at 157 West Metzler Road. The old building, built in 1976, had become too small to accommodate the needs of our growing township. Recognizing the need for a larger facility, the Board of Supervisors commissioned Engel Architects to design a building that would not only accommodate the township’s present needs, but its future needs as well.
In order to meet the Board’s request for an updated facility, Engel Architects designed a building that would incorporate a renovation of the old building with an addition of space for road department operations, administrative functions and meetings.
After selecting building contractors through the competitive bidding process, demolition work on the old building was started in October 2000. Site work and grading continued through the late fall and winter. As of this writing, the walls for the road department space have been built and the contractors are beginning the process to "tie" the old space and new space together.
Work on the municipal building will continue this year through August with a projected completion date of September 2001. During the construction all township meetings will be held at the West Earl Fire Hall. The Newsletter will keep residents informed of the project’s progress.
