Istanbul Byers 1990
A reblooming child of Broadway X Earl of
Essex . This iris along with it's sibling Floorshow are, to some,
some of the ugliest irises out there but I disagree. Istanbul has
lovely pale yellow standards with plicata like falls that are washed faint
yellow, although this fades in direct sunlight and is not visible in the
photo. This iris is almost surreal in appearance, I can sit and stare
at Istanbul for a great deal of time enjoying it thoroughly.. Reported
to rebloom in zone 4 but I didn't have any rebloom at all last year so
my expectations are low.
