HOLY FIRE Sutton 2001
This is a great photo of Holy Fire in full bloom and the back of Snowball's head. I honestly didn't notice that he was there ! Everybody knows how irritating he is because he follows me all through the Iris beds and finds his way into many photographs. Check out my photo of Bayberry Candle , I get so focused that I don't notice the little bum wander into my camera frame. Anyway, Holy Fire is a recent introduction from George Sutton, it's a wonderfully formed huge space age iris , it's worthy of awards due to it's adaptability to move from Zone 9 in California to zone 4b here and not miss a beat. This one had short horns this year but should produce flounces.
