Broue
, the tiny cat from the corn fields
Sadly , Broue recently left this earth because she was drained of life due to an intestinal tumor. She is still very much in our hearts and our every day thoughts.
She was always a tiny cat , her heaviest weight was only seven pounds but she could have seventy pounds of character if she wanted. Broue was born in a corn field and spent her early days in a barn being cared for by her Grandmother. My wife Chantal drove to the farm with my mother in-law hoping to choose a nice cat and they came home with a beautiful little long haired white cat who had a red stained mouth from eating chicked hearts.
Over the years she has never gone outside but she's always fiercely defended her territory through the window of the sliding patio doors. The only cat she didn't manage to scare off was Snowball. An independant feline she was , she always liked Grover and always tried to sleep near him , they were fine companions . I could wake her from the deepest sleep just by lightly rattling the can opener , she'd race down from her spot hoping for a delicious snack of Tuna. It was hard for Grover to get near the food bowls at first but his 15 pounds would eventually muscle it's way in.
Broue was an early morning and late night social butterfly but her absolute favorite thing to do in the whole world was to sleep beside my wife Chantal on the bed. I'll remember her at her happiest and healthiest snoozing on the bed early Saturday mornings.
We'll miss her dearly but but still feel her presence strongly in the house and in out hearts. She is still a beloved pet , even though she's now left this earth. We like to think of her as an angel that now looks over us.
