BLACK OUT Luihn 1986
This iris is vigorous , the best of my first
year Sutton rhizomes from California in 1999, stalks are 37 inches and
don't blow over in the wind which is surprising for a plant with such large
flowers. Standards look as if they're made of velvet , an absolutely
divine presence in the garden. This regal black from the purple
side is a priceless garden warrior . I am not currently
growing this iris, it got lost when we moved house in 2001 but it will
definitely be on my 2003 order. For anybody interested in hybridizing
, BLACK OUT is also fertile both ways.
