BABBLING BROOK  Keppel 1966

This is the iron horse of my garden  , a great grower with stalks that don't blow over.  Large fragrant  flowers on 38 inch stalks  ,  is also quite leaf spot resistant compared to many other irises in the yard.  This iris is fertile  but didn't produce pollen for me in 2000 but produced plenty of pollen in 1999.  I am currently growing seedlings from BABBLING BROOK and can't wait to see the results.  Strangely enough , this iris also has tiny horns that grow from beneath the beard , check out the photo below.

This is not the best quality photo but you can't help but notice the appendage sticking up from under the beard.  I'd still like to know if anybody else has ever seen mini prototype horns on this cultivar. jjj
