Who should be censored: Ang Dating Daan or Ang Tamang Daan?

We, a group of concerned supporters of Ang Dating Daan and Bro. Eli Soriano, strongly denounce and condemn in the strongest possible film and television regulator MTRCB’s unjust decision for issuing yesterday (August 16) a 20-day freeze against television broadcast of Ang Dating Daan without due process of law.

CHURCH OF GOD INTERNATIONAL, which is commonly referred to as ANG DATING DAAN or ADD was never given the chance to explain or give its side about the issue. The swift hand of the MTRCB is posing grave threat to the freedom of religion and freedom of expression in our country.

We are afraid religious freedom is at stake here because in our midst there is a regulatory agency whose chairman and board members are biased and easily swayed by hear-says and threats.

The decision is tainted with religious color because we believe, Ang Dating Daan’s long-time rival Iglesia ni Manalo’s, use its influence and clout in its vain and vicious attempt to silence, muzzle and destroy Bro. Eli for his unwavering exposes of the idiocy and bareness of their blasphemous and unchristian doctrine that JESUS CHRIST IS NOT GOD;

Come to think of it, we now ask you, who should be censored?

• Is it Ang Dating Daan for exposing the truths in the Bible? Or, Ang Tamang Daan hosted by ministers of Manalo who ventured in the “advertising and promotion” of smut magazines supposedly with pornographic illustrations of personalities included in the long list of their target for spiritual demolitions?

• Is it Ang Dating Daan for using as basis in its exposes the same reference materials used, broadcast or published by INC and the Bible? Or, Ang Tamang Daan for coming up with polluted TV presentations of spliced and edited broadcast tapes of Bro. Eli’s previous speaking engagement to quote him out of context and project a bad image of him and ADD?

Something must be done and there must be action for the sake of fairness, truthfulness and justice.

We must act now.

Apalit, Pampanga -- “Nobody does it better ...” was sung by Asia’s Queen of Songs Ms. Pilita Corales during the recently-held concert-for-a-cause to pay tribute to Bro. Eli Soriano, whom she believes affected and influenced her in many ways.

Ms. Corales’ song is a fitting homage to the four tumultuous but fruitful decades of Bro. Eli’s commitment and service to our organization and mankind. And she, like our brothers and sisters who attended one of this year’s very successful concerts, had nothing but praise and gratitude that they have known Bro. Eli.

For him, it is nothing that it is his birthday and he should be celebrating his 40th spiritual years together with his family and close friends, but still Bro. Eli believes that a hospital meant for the indigents would he best remember his birthday so a concert was held.

The concert titled “Through the Years…” is especially meant for the completion of the Ang Dating Daan Hospital that is being constructed along Quezon Blvd. in Quiapo, Manila.

Among the performers during the night of April 11 in Ultra include Iskho Salvador a.k.a. Brad. Pitt of the “Ang Dating Doon” fame impersonated and mimics Bro. Eli’s manner of answering the questions posed by his guests. His “Itanong Mo” is likened to the Itanong mo kay Soriano segment of Ang Dating Daan but fuses his answers with wit and quirkiness to the seemingly-intelligent but comical questions by his guests.

But in all, the concert shows that through the years, Bro. Eli Soriano—the man, the leader, and the servant remained steadfast in his faith. His unwavering commitment and dedication to this organization and to the whole of mankind remained undaunted in the midst of hardships, trials and persecutions.

There is no denying the fact that for four decades now, he has been offering his strength . . . his time . . . and his love for the glory of the ONE that sent him – proving without a shadow of a doubt that, he, truly, is God’s humble messenger in these last days.
