Tonto Plateau

The Tonto Trail follows the Tonto Plateau for 95 miles.  It begins at the foot of the New Hance Trail and continues east to Garnet Creek.  The trail isn't as level as it appears from the rim.  It winds in and out of drainages an at times is hard to follow if there are no cairns in sight.  The distance of the Tonto Trail between Grandview and Hermit is 38 miles.
