Scene: History Channel Headquarters - Hollywood, California Time: Tuesday, 2.10.04 - 5:58 PM Next Match: @ Redemption Vs. Rob Van Dam [MAIN EVENT - Non Title / Singles Match]
[|. xwf .|] THE RANDY ORTON ERA... has indeed begun, but according to The Champ Randy Orton himself, it didn't start last week on Redemption with his Victory over Steven Richards. Oh no because you see it all started the very second that Randy Orton layed his fingers on The XWF World Heavyweight Championship. When Randy picked up that belt and never let go to this very date, Or maybe it wasn't even than.. maybe it was way back when Randy Orton won The Intercontinental Title, or when he was given a match against (at the time) World Champion Kurt Angle - only for that match to be taken away from him the same night. Either way you look at it though, Randy Orton is living the high life and sitting DAMN PRETTY. He's had some good looking winning streaks throughout his career in the XWF but he's looking towards walking into Gravity with his head held high and a couple more opponents beaten, under his belt and in the past so to speak. But speaking of Gravity.. Shawn Michaels has shaken the very foundation that The New Corporation is standing on and The Champ is going to have to defend his prescious World Title at The Pay Per View this month, his opponent.. well the old HB-Commish hasn't made that clear just yet wich you can imagine is getting under Randys skin and would get under anyone elses skin as well. So Shawn Michaels wants to tie himself up with The New Corporations affairs yet again? the last time that happened things weren't very pretty but if anyone can do it again - it's him. And so it begins.. One Thorn is taken out of The Champions side as Taz bites the dust and only one man is now The Number One Contender. Edge defeats Taz but Edge has his own obstacles to cross as The WrestleMania Main Event is even blurrier than before. It now seems as if we could have a New XWF Champion come Gravity, as well as an entirely different Number One Contender and nEw Champion. So as The Xtreme Wrestling Federation dives into this Sea of Chaos it seems as if now.. truly.. Only The Strong Will Survive.
" Reminiscence "
pros·pect (pros'pekt) n. A candidate deemed likely to succeed.
Prospektive: still their are doubters, people who don't believe that Randy Orton is the right man to be Champion and people who STILL don't think Randy Orton can cut it in the XWF. But Randy HAS accomplished many things in his past and has overcome all kinds of odds and it's about damn time everyone realized just what Randy has accomplished. No More "Didn't Deserve This" or "He Was Handed That" this Ladies and Gentleman.. is Randy Orton - 101 an upclose look at the man who is YOUR WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION. A Dimly lit room is where the cameras finally come to life at. Surrounding the edges of the room are portraits illuminated in light of Randy himself achieving things of past and present. In the middle placed on a podium in a case of glass with a spotlight shining down on it making it look all the more spectacular is the XWF World Heavwyeight Championship, meaning Randy must not be too far away. Someone steps out from the shadows but it isn't Randy, it's an elderly man in a suit and tie with his arms behind his back in a proper manner.. The History Channel Logo shows up in the bottom left hand corner as the man begins to speak.
'The Host' Bob Royle: " Good Evening.. and Welcome, I'm your Host for Tonight Bob Royle and Tonight is a very special edition of The History Channels Biography. Where we dive into the World of Professional Wrestling, the Billion Dollar Business that thousands of fans tune in to watch night after night to get their fill of entertainment and drama. Tonight courtesy of The XWF and Vince McMahon we will take a look at The Xtreme Wrestling Federations own Randy Orton, who just recently became World Champion a couple of weeks ago at this years annual Royal Rumble.. "
Prospektive: the Host paces around the podium where The World Title Resides looking down at it for a brief moment taking in all of its greatness. He than looks back up at the camera as he stands just in the right spot, making a large photo of the night Randy Orton became XWF World Champion perfectly clear in the background.
'History Channel Host' Bob Royle: " July Twenty Second, Two Thousand and Two.. Just A Little under A year and Five Months ago Randy Orton made his debut match on Raw and defeated Five other opponents to signify the day that he put his foot in the XWF door. It marked the day that nobody would ever forget to this very moment.. the day that a True Athlete, a True Champion began his road to greatness. "
Prospektive: again the host moves to another part of the room where the lights seem to increase in brightness as he steps closer and the next portrait conveniently placed in the background is one of Randy the night he won The Intercontinental Championship. There's a short pause before yet again the host begins to speak.
'History Channel Host' Bob Royle: " In August of the year Two Thousand and Two at SummerSlam, Randy Orton bursted onto the Title Scene and in only his Second Ever XWF Pay Per View appearance - Randy Orton won The Intercontinental Championship in an Eight Man One Night Tournament. Doing what some Superstars that had been on the roster much longer than him haven't even come close to accomplishing. [ pause] So it would Take Randy Orton less than two months to capture the second biggest Championship that the Xtreme Wrestling Federation had to offer and for Randy.. that was only the beginning. "
Prospektive: and so the process begins again as the man starts to move towards the next enlarged photo of a Randy Orton Accolade but this time when the cameras settle we notice a figure standing behind the Host. It's Randy Orton! But The host doesn't realize it just yet and continues to carry on as usual totally unaware.
'History Channel Host' Bob Royle: " Randy than went on to defend that Intercontinental Championship Twice, only to lose it in a Brutal I Quit Match to 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin to begin one of the most heated rivalries that the XWF has ever seen. To this day it has been proven that Randy Orton never did say the words "I Quit" but still Steve Austin was awarded The Intercontinental Title. That would be the first Travesty and Upset of Randy Ortons young career, but not the last. "
Prospektive: Randy finally decides to interupt, not liking the direction the show is heading.
'THA PROSPEKT' Randy Orton: " Whoa Now, hold on just a damn minute there man.. you're steering away from the point of the show. The People aren't tuning in to listen about me getting screwed out of my Intercontinental Championship, they want to hear about the times that I beat two former XWF World Champions Hall of Famers in two consecutive weeks.. First The Contender to be and than than the Current Champ in a Non-Title Match in two consecutive weeks. Kind've like the situation we're in now.. where Rob Van Dam is getting a match with me on Redemption in the Main Event. But the Title Will Not be on the line.. Because again, just like Steven Richards just Like Taz or Edge and their pathetic excuse for Contendership, Rob Van Dam is not worthy of even laying eyes on My XWF World Heavyweight Title. [ randy pats him on the back] Now just keep the show on a positive note like Mr. McMahon has payed and ordered you to do and we wont have a problem. Now.. you may continue. "
Prospektive: Randy steps back allowing The Host to continue as he begins to observe his own Belt, removing it from the case as The Host tries his best to act as if Randy isn't even there.
'History Channel Host' Bob Royle: " Well.. with Randy Orton no longer being "held back" in his very own words.. by the confines of an Intercontinental Championship, he aimed for a much bigger prize. Randy took his chances in the Two Thousand and Three Royal Rumble and was entered as The Mystery Guest slash Thirtieth Entrant. Randy came within a heartbeat of winning it but was more hellbent at the time in eliminating again.. Rival Steve Austin. So only a year later at The Royal Rumble of Two Thousand and Four Randy achieved his wrestling career long dream of becoming XWF World Champion. "
Prospektive: The Host turns his head back looking over at Randy to see if he has the "Okay" to carry on speaking. Randy raises his arms in the air as if signalling he's innocent.
'THA PROSPEKT' Randy Orton: " Hey don't look at me. You're doing fine.. Just go on with what you're being paid to do and Pretend like I'm not even here. A Figment of your Imagination. "
Prospektive: Randy can't help but burst out into laughter for the Joke that only he seemed to get and The Older Man doesn't seem to be very amused at all. But yet he still continues the praise for Randy Orton because well.. Vince McMahon said so Damnit. Randy can be seen polishing up the World Title that now hangs around his right shoulder, a look of sheer confidence radiating off of him.
'History Channel Host' Bob Royle: " So with the World Title around your waist you would think that a whole barriage of Respect would have come The Champions way.. but that was simply not the case. "
Prospektive: Randy can be seen shaking his head in the background agreeing with the statement.
'History Channel Host' Bob Royle: " No because you see.. the very night that Randy Orton became The XWF World heavyweight Champion there were people who looked at him as the rightful Champion. People like Vince McMahon and The Corporation.. and than on the other hand you had the doubters, the critics, and the opposition. Now Randy Orton has to watch his back around every turn as a very bright target rests directly on him for all of The XWF Superstars to see. "
Prospektive: Randy gets a worried look on his face interupting the show yet again.
'THA PROSPEKT' Randy Orton: " Hey, what the hell did I just tell you?.. did I not say to keep the show on a positive note, what the hell is all this crap about a Target being on my chest and me having to watch my back? I got The Corporation watching my back for me Pal and even though Foley and Sanders aren't a part of the team anymore it really doesn't matter. Because as long as Vince has me, his MAIN Man.. The Corporation will always be looking good. Besides, Foley and Sanders couldn't cut it.. Did you know that Mick Foley got Three Different Title Shots and Lost them all?! Hes got three different personalities, but neither one of um' could win a belt! What a Joke.. and Mike Sanders, don't even get me started on that guy. [ randy pauses] But Hey, that reminds me.. Vince always said if you don't like the way things are going - change them. And that's the second time you've disobeyed an order from myself and Mr. McMahon as well. There is no three strikes and you're out, this is my show now. I don't know how I even let Vince talk me into letting a guy like you Host a show about ME. You're more Historic than The History Channel.. now get the hell out of my way, you're in my spotlight. "
'History Channel Host' Bob Royle: " But Mr. McMahon isn't going to pay me if I don't finish the show. What is the meaning of this Young Man?! I was told by your boss, Mr. Vincent K. McMahon himself that you wouldn't cause any trouble, and that you were here only for the purpose of watching over your World Title. Now you're out here causing a ruckus and disrupting my show! My People will not be very pleased if their Ratings are effected because of this.. not pleased at all. "
'THA PROSPEKT' Randy Orton: " Quit your whining old man and show some respect to a TRUE ATHLETE. Not Some wannabe named Rob Van Dam who got famous by kicking chairs in peoples faces back in white trash wrestling.. also known as ECW. And as far as your ratings go, you want Ratings? You're honestly worried about Ratings when you have The Best Looking World Champion to ever be a Guest on this show standing right before you. It's not the Ratings you need to worry about because if anything the ratings will go sky-high when Randy Orton is on The Air. And as far as you getting paid goes, that really isn't my priority.
Prospektive: Randy pushes the elderly host off camera before he can reply and gives off one of those trademark grins as he waits a moment as if to build up the suspense of giving everyone watching in TV land the upmost privelage of hearing his voice. (atleast that's what I get from it) He glances down to his shoulder at the World Title once again and than re-directs his attention back towards the camera focused on him.
'THA PROSPEKT' Randy Orton: " I stand before all you people watching currently as the reinging Xtreme Wrestling Federation Champion.. but still there are some who think of me as maybe a one time deal. Yes I'm talking about you Shawn Michaels.. You think threatening me and by forcing me to Defend my World Title at Gravity that you can intimidate me, like I'm going to be afraid of you because you have a little say in what goes on in the XWF. I'm not afraid of you Shawn and I never have been. and if I remember correctly, the last time that you and I crossed paths you ended up a bloody mess and I.. well I came out looking better than I already did in the end, if that's at all possible. So Shawn you can try your best at scaring me and getting in my just because you're a bitter man who is jealous of someone who is better than him. That's right Shawn.. Randy Orton is better than you. I'm everything you wish you could have been Shawn, but compared to me you're nothing but a Washed up Commisioner who is filled with so much jealousy and hate that he has got to try his hardest to make someone else suffer. But the only person that will be doing the suffering after this is all said and done Shawn.. is you. "
Prospektive: Randy begins to pace around the room as he too seems to follow in the steps of the Former Host and oh so Conveniently stands so that yet another portrait hangs in the background.. this time one of him and The Corporation. (The Stooges, Sable, Vince McMahon) Randy glances back momentarily and when he brings his eyes back towards the direction of the camera his focus is entirely different than before and an intense glare fills his eyes. One of a Heated Passion and of Hatred that no man would dare want to cross..
'THA PROSPEKT' Randy Orton: " So Shawn, it will be me against an unknown opponent or opponents at Gravity.. that's okay because you see Shawn that is exactly what I needed.. I needed a way to show that this World Title around my Shoulder is as real as it gets and the fact that people would even doubt me is just proof that there are way too many Jealous people out there in this world, Shawn Michaels included. So at Gravity I will defend my XWF World Title and go on to Headline at my very first XWF WrestleMania appearance. So I guess Shawn, all I have to thank you for, is the warmup match. "
Prospektive: Randy stays in place as he pauses to reflect on a few things making sure not to miss a step as The World Title Shines Brightly from the light hitting it in just the right spot.
'THA PROSPEKT' Randy Orton: " But I don't need to worry about Gravity or WrestleMania right now. I've got bigger fish to fry and last week it all started with that sorry excuse for an "XWF Legend" Steven Richards.. I think maybe he should have checked into Preschool instead of the XWF. But this week on Redemption it is Randy Orton versus Rob Van Dam in The Main Event wich will now be Multiple Main Events that I have taken part in if I might add. Does anyone really have to ask who is going to win this one? It's obvious that I'm the only Star in this match, and that "Mister P-P-V" stands no chance against Mister R-K-O.. Cause Rob, quite frankly, you can take your nEw, your SGW, AWE or wherever the hell it is your from, Shove It.. and than kiss my Perfectly Groomed Ass while you're at it. Because if you and Taz and that Nobody Val Venis haven't noticed, THIS IS THE XWF. We don't stake claim to old accomplishments here.. or pride ourselves on a Company that went under only a Month after it had openened. You have actually got to be a man to survive in the XWF and well Rob, your luck just ran out Pal. Pulling a match with The Champ is like you on a first date.. you just can't seem to seal the deal and you will lose Rob. Because if you think that I'm going to allow some new guy like you to just walk on into The XWF thinking you're some Hot Shot than you obviously haven't been paying attention. I'm the man around here.. not you, not John Cena or Edge, I'm The Champ! So Rob a word of advice.. the next time you feel like "Boosting" your pathetic little career, make sure it isn't against a man you can't beat. [ randy laughs] I'll be seeing you Rob.. "
The History Channels Logo disapears and is replaced by the XWF Logo as Randy exits the stage disapearing off camera and into the darkness and we're left wondering just who is going to win this massive Main Event matchup this week on Redemption.. Rob Van Dam.. or Randy Orton? Take your pick. [|. xwf .|]
