This is my attempt to tab out this monster of a song. First off, there are obviously 2 distinct guitar parts in this piece. One guitar stays mostly low (with 2-hand tapping throughout the entire song), while the other guitar compliments with much of the higher notes (sort of like the icing on the cake). I didn't bother with exact counts or rhythms. So you will have to listen to the recording to get the timings right. I tried to get as much of both guitars as possible, and without mixing them up either. The 2nd Guitar is really tough to pick out in many places. So there are a lot of sketchy parts throughout. But, you should get the general idea. So here goes nothin'! Enjoy! Guitar 1 = Mike Guitar 2 = Ian *NOTE: This tab is a combination of parts from the album and from a live mp3 I own. I tried to mix in the best of both worlds. So don't be discouraged if it doesn't sound identical to the album recording on all parts. / or \ = slide ( ) = optional note ^ = hammer on/pull off [ ] = not sure on the note Standard Tuning Key of ??? *Intro -Guitar 1 starts this off with some 2-handd tapping (p.s. it sounds best on electric w/ light distortion). Guitar 1: Tap it fast with no gaps in beetween notes! Note: this tapping phrase or sequence is repeated alot throughout the song. It just keeps moving around. *NOTE: Your right hand will always tap the two notes on the same fret, while your left will always tap the octave shape! -Repeat this two bar phrase 14 times. This is played quickly! An extremely simple and repetitive part is played over the top. Guitar 1: Just like the intro, but a bit different. -Repeat for a bit, then the riff is altereed again later. Guitar 2 keeps repeating the same part as before, over and over. So I won't bother to tab it out again. On the live version I have, it sounds like three friggin' guitars here! Guitar 1: Repeat the first measure 3 times. Then play the second measure once. I can also hear some slides higher up the neck in parts. I'm not going to lie! I have no idea what to play here. So I won't put a part. -The part here is played all through this part and through the next part as well! *Once again... tap part is altered, with Guitar 2 playing over the top. Guitar 2 plays along the same lines as the last part. Guitar 1: Plays this, then lays out for the rest of the bar. -Repeat four times. Guitar 1: Again... same rhythm and speed as intro tap part. -Repeat the first measure for a while. Theen play the second measure for the last one. But this is what is played live. -The first measure is played for a few, thhen switch to the second measure to finish it up. Note: I'm kinda sketchy about Guitar 2's later parts here (the last two measures). Guitar 1: Listen to the record to get the right timing here. This is tricky because these are all tapped/hammer-ons! Use both hands like before to simplify things. -Repeat for quite a while! Remember... No pick! I'm not very sure here, especially about the later measures! -For best results, Just mess around with tthese parts. You will, however, have to figure out how many times to repeat each measure. Just play them in order. This is a guess! Guitar 1: This part is played just like the part before. Just find the best fingers to use on each note. Try to hold down/sustain as many notes as possible. -Repeat this four times. E----------------------------------------------| B----------------------------------------------| G-----------6---------6--------8---------8-----| D--------9----------9-------------9--------9---| A-----7-----------7---------7-------7----------| E--9-----------9---------9------------9--------| Guitar 2: Hammer quickly from the 9th fret to the 12th. Don't stay on the 9th fret very long at all (cut the 12th fret note pretty short too). Treat the 9th fret note as a grace note. Repeat up until the change. E-----------------------------------| B---9^12-9^12-9^12-9^12-9^12-9^12---| G-----------------------------------| D-----------------------------------| A-----------------------------------| E-----------------------------------| *Now Guitar 1 plays a low dissonant part, while Guitar 2 plays high (dissonant as well). Guitar 1: Repeat the first measure 12 times as a syncopated rhythm. Then play the same notes as quarter notes for 3 bars (second measure). Now play the third measure once. Kind of random sounding and I am not sure at all on this part. But these are the best notes I could find. Just mess around w/ the notes in this chord for the first measure. -Play around for a bit, then play the secoond measure for the last four. This is a complete guess here! There is allot of dissonance and the rhythm becomes much more sluggish. Oh... it's a glorious mess! Guitar 1: Pretty straight-forward. -Repeat this bar for a while. Stop the E-sstring pull-off near the end. And omit the A-string later on. Something like this I guess. Just improvise, it'll work best! My advice would be to just try and pick and choose the most prominent riffs out of the song and throw them together. That way when you play it, it has some consistency.
