More about me
I am Brian Whiskey and I drum for the local band in
Drums
The drums I sell are:
-Shells are round, bearing
edges are good, no cracks, dents or holes.
-I inspect lugs, tension
rods, hoops and heads. If I need too, I replace them all.
-I check cymbals for cracks,
keyholes and general wear and tear. I can fix key holes but I never sell
cracked stuff.
-I also try and get a history
of the set.
What does refurbish mean?
When
I refurbish, I take the drums apart completely, clean, shine and lubricate the
tension rods and rebuild the drum. I use basic chemicals for rust removal and
for restoring the shine of the kit. If I need to, I can have the bearing edges
re-cut, but only if it’s on a good kit. I also take apart, clean and
lubrication all moving parts on the hardware. I replace missing washers and
cymbal stand memory locks, plastic sleeves and felt.
Cymbals
After inspection, I shine and polish them with an electric
buffer and the recommended cymbal polish. I never use groove juice.
Re sale
I base my prices on two things. First, what is the product
going for new? And second, what is the products availability and price on
e-bay? I usually out bid others on e-bay but you may find the same product for
less. However, I deal locally and you can check out my products and you’ll
never pay shipping and handling. Beware! You never get to see stuff on e-bay
with your own eye’s and you have to trust the seller. Their feedback may be good,
but who knows. Also, if they don’t ship it right (say through UPS and refuse to
let UPS pack it) you may not be covered if there is any damage from shipping.
Take it from me, I’ve lost plenty in the mail.
I
invite you to check out my gear, then come over and look at it. I have a high
security basement that is climate controlled with a dehumidifier. I also teach
drums lessons out of here and practice daily on my gear!
