BEAUTIFUL DEAL

JAMES Patrick B. Quizon of Ateneo de Naga University wrote to say that Francesca Piccinnini of Italy is more beautiful than Leila Barros of Brazil but Maurizia Cacciattori, Piccinnini's teammate, is the most ''beautiful of them all.''

The three played here last year during the World Women's Volleyball Grand Prix in which Barros was selected the most beautiful one of all.

''But I could be wrong,'' said James, 19 years old. ''I haven't seen them in person. Maybe, I will have a better view of them and my views might change. Will you send me to Manila then next month?''

Yes, why not? But I'm not rich. Come on, sell vegetables if you must, or badger your folks for fare - the Grand Prix is the year's sports event to watch.

I can swing three tickets for you - Aug. 18, 19 and 20. Now, if you catch me in a good mood, I might extend the ticket assistance up to the finals.

Just three things: Wipe the sweat off Leila's forehead when the going gets tough, give a glass of water to Francesca when she needs it most, or buy Maurizia a plate of Italianni spaghetti when hotel food has suddenly become bland.
