The Zhou dynasty lasted from 1046 BCE to 256 BCE.

This dynasty lived to be the longest ever in Chinese history.

The people were ruled a "Mandate of Heavan" which they thought was sent actually sent from heavan and therefore they had to listen to them.

This dynasty fell due to rebeln bands that found a stronger leader, who unites them to attack the emperor, which leads to a brand new dynasty.

The Zhou dynasty was an era of philosphy. Such philosophers may include Confucius, and his follower Mencius.

Around 1046 BCE, the leader of the Zhou, King Wu, overthrew the last king of the Shang dynasty, which is how the dynasty came to power.
