The beginning...Part 2
"We just thought it would be fun to (film) Jessie mocking the Sandman. I never figured it to really turn into what we have now." says Matt. "The majority of us have been fans of professional wrestling since we were young." continued Dave. "This is something I really enjoy doing."
The only downside that BCW faces, due to school and work schedules, is a long 7 month off-season. "Damn school and work always getting in the way of things." a constant line being heard from Tom. "It's getting really hard to schedule events when everyone can't be there." With BCW having over 20 characters, and only 11 guys to fill the spots, it can get pretty hairy come bell time. "I start work early in the morning and am pretty much done around 11am. It's these clowns who have the problem." says Aric, as he points to everyone with a job. "True, but then it's your's and Mike's fault we can't hold events during the school year because you're like, 2 1/2 hours away." shot back Tom. "I'm able to do it, but you guys manage to schedule whenever I'm working and unable to get out of it." replies Mike Hartigan (Tibor). But when everything does come together, it makes all the headaches of scheduling worth it. "Obviously, our best events have happened when we take more than a week to plan the damn thing." says Dave. Watching the tapes, you can tell where the most time went into planning. "The May Two-For is the 'WrestleMania' for BCW." agreed Matt and Dave. "I think that the 2001 Two-For was nearly 6 months in the making." said Tom. "I was constantly thinking of matches, running them by with Dave. Making adjustments to the ring. And just the event as a whole. My notebook has almost more notes on the Two-For than it does for classes." laughs Tom.
So as BCW heads into it's 3rd season, with the May Two-For 2K2 on the distant horizon, what does the BCW roster see in BCW's future?
Tom- "More events. Definately need to get more wrestling in."
Matt- "Better qualtiy of the matches. And more organization and prep time. And some NEW pictures! Tom!"
Dave- "Deeper story lines. And MORE UPDATES on the friggin' website, TOM!"
Jessie- "Yeah TOM! Update the friggin' site. LMD rules!"
Aric- "Babes. ....Fix up the website...clown!"
Mike- "The Heavyweight title on Tibor. HaHa! But really, it would be good to have an organized schedule."
Tom- "Okay, fine! I get the hint."
How much longer will BCW continue into the future? They only planned on a short 15 minute video, that turned into two years of backyard wrestling. So maybe that is a good indication of BCW's future.
Interviews with BCW superstars will be posted as the weeks progress.
