The Brahma Club of Australia was formed on Sunday 2nd July 2000 at a feature show that was held by The Belgian Bantam Club of Australia, at the Castle Hill Showgrounds NSW.

This feature show was organised by Andrew Rathbone who is also a breeder of Belgian Bantams. There were 118 birds benched for the feature show with 35 being Standards and 83 being Bantam.

With the success of this Feature Show, those who exhibited decided to form a club in their own right. This club was to be known as The Brahma Club of Australia. The constitution of the club is a one page document to keep things nice and simple and allow members to concentrate on why they exhibited in the first place, The Brahma.

The inaugural President was Andrew Rathbone, Vice President...Bryan Jon, Secretary /Treasurer etc...Carol Abuid.

From a humble beginning of 10 members, in two short years there are now 47 members from all states in Australia except Tasmania. ( 4 of these members are juniors i.e.. under 16)

Since the formation of the club, interest in the Brahma has climbed significantly and this has also been helped along by the support of Megg Miller and Australasian Poultry Magazine. Our thanks go to Megg for her support of not only the Brahma but the Poultry Fancy as a whole in this country.
