Meeting all of your events RSVP needs.
A. Documentation of the Development Process Explain to your audience the intent and purpose behind this website. What steps did you take in creating the website that ensured you met your objectives?
The plan for this site was for a customer to be able to view what the company offers for services to help organize an event.
B. Defense of the Final Product Why did you make the specific design choices that you did? For each of your website’s pages, explain your rationale for the overall design, as well as the individual components (colors, typography, etc.). Support your choices with evidence of your consideration of the end user. What did you do to make your website engaging, professional, and easy to use?
My concept of the site is not what ended up being submitted. I wanted the layout to be simple and easy to navigate while not cluttering the layout. I feel as if the tabs work well for the registering, pricing, contact us, and about tabs. The family and Corporate event portions of the site were intended to depict types of events that a customer can use the company for. Additionally I intended to link the images to event creation page, however i was unable to complete that portion of the project becasue of issues with formatting.C. Opportunities for Improvement and Growth Finally, explain what else you might like to do with this website in the future. What could you have done differently if you had more time or resources? What sorts of content, capabilities, pages, etc. might you want to include in future updates?
There are many things that I learned and started to incorporate into the design and build process. the first thing is that i realized that i needed to create a base document and create version of it and the linked sheets to it for css and other styling references. I spent alot of time recreating the base document because of errors I was making during the implementation of code into the overall site code files. With this revelation I also started to use the w3schools site try this code windows to get the abse code for lets say a navigation tab,
and then would add the info for a form to test it to see if it worked. Now this was not fool proof, but it did help with creating code that was functionable and did what I wanted to do. The other major thing that i started to use was google's devtools (inspect function). I wish i had found this much earlier as it takes a little to figure out the basics of its use, but it is great tool to help trace css coding links and to see what elements are affected by what. Things I would like to incorporate are the use of modals instead of tabs, as I feel
the modals are more stylistic and cleaner, but I had difficulty getting them to display properly and not in the navbar or other locations that were not supposed to be in. I would also look to use individual external pages, to help eliminate the tabs as well. I also would change the navigation style, but was already committed to what i had for a layout, and did not want to chage major components to the page. A logo is need as well.
In all, while I am happy that I was able to build a page, it is not what I envisioned. I did not anticipate or understand some issues I ran into, which I spent alot of time, which in the end, I went in a different direction ( tabs instead of modals). The color scheme is lacking with out a doubt, as my focus was on the content of the site and the functionality issues I ran into.
