Website Idea - For my job, I work at an Apple-tech repair shop, which consists mostly of replacing damaged hardware like screens, batteries, charging ports, etc. But we don't have a website, so I'm ready to do something useful.

Summary - A website that is capable of giving updated prices for each item in the store's inventory that customers can view.

Content - We have photos of phones, tools, and components. I will most likely use some of Apple's generic advertisement photos, which should be allowed for commercial use under copyright law (though of course I'll check each photo used individually)

Competition -

  1. ZAGG: Use soft squares and fade-in effects to make everything on their site appear smooth and sleek. There are no colors save for t hose present on the (many) ads on their website.
  2. uBreakiFix: There's no real color on this website either- just a slate white background with black text.

Purpose - Currently, the only way to get a price estimate is to either come into the shop, which takes a long time for something you may not want, or call, which carries with it the chance that the employees will be too busy to help. This offers a hands-off alternative that is completely hands-off for us, the employees.

Desired Results - I'm an employee. If the website saves us ONE interrupting phone call while I'm busy talking to another customer, it's a win.

Target Audience - Young adults who know how to use the internet, usually those living on Dixie campus.
