Trains gather at North Station in 1975, the final year of service on the Orange Line El. Today this area continues to change, Boston Garden is gone, the Orange Line El is long gone, and the Green Line El is going! Photo Larry Mills.
April 4th 1975, the last train prepares to leave Everett for Boston over the Charleston Elevated. A few days later service would begin on the new Orange Line Haymarket North route, that would eventually reach Malden and Oak Grove.

More color confusion on the MBTA. Here on the Red Line we see 01400's 'Bluebirds" at Ashmont. These cars ruled the Red Line until the south shore extenstion brought on the 01500 and 01600's. Photo  Larry Mills.
