| Yes this is a "Red Line" train. The 01400 series was purchased with state funds so the cars were painted in the State colors. They remained this way until the early 1980's when the MBTA began to rebuld of 01400's. Until the rebuilds, 01400's were only seen on Ashmont line. We are at Park Street in the late 1970's Photo Bob Redden. |

| Silverbirds in Dorchester. Here is where the original Red Line splits from the South Shore route. The tracks to the left head for Ashmont, the tracks on the right head for Quincy. The two car train was common on the MBTA during off peak hours through the 70's Photo Bob Redden. |
