The Guinness brewery was begun by Arthur Guinness in 1759. He signed a 9000 year lease on a beat old brewery at 45 per year, and began turning out a beer that today is brewed in 35 countries around the world, at 2 1/2 million pints a day, 10 million glasses of Guinness every day. Good christ! The Brewery, at St. James Gate, Dublin, uses over 90,000 tons of Irish barley every year. This is equvalent to 4,000 tractor trailer loads, which, if lined up nose to tail, would stretch for 30 miles!
Irish doctors advise expectant mothers to drink a pint or two of Guinness each day because it contains healthy doses of iron. Guinness for strength! |
