Sadly, George Psychoundakis died on Jan 29th at the age of 85. The opportunity to meet this man has passed with regrets. I still hope to complete this page in his honor.

| This page is reserved for a return trip to visit western Crete where hopefully I will have the opportunity to meet George Psychoundakis, the author of "The Cretan Runner". It was in western Crete that the resistance against the Germans was the greatest and where most of the atrocities took place. Western Crete is a rugged mountain area where time has stood still. Update: Sadly, George Psychoundakis died on Jan 29th at the age of 85. The opportunity to meet this man has passed with regrets. I still hope to complete this page in his honor. |
