"White-O-Mornin"
The village of Cong is pretty much the same as it was in 1951. Both the Catholic Church and the Church of Ireland were used in the film. Inside mass was in the Catholic church but the outside scene was the Church of Ireland. The Holy water font was moved from the Catholic church for the 'patty fingers' scene and was not returned before mass and holy hell broke out.
Squire Danagher's house has not changed much except for the addition of a porch. This house is on the grounds of Ashford Castle where many scenes were shot. The house is still lived in by the same family.
The Trap that was used in the movie was the property of Ashford Castle and it is still there.
"...and who taught you to be playing patty fingers in the Holy water?"
After Mass
"Are you sure you won't change your mind Sean and come along home with me?"  "Don't worry about it, I've got my sleeping bag, don't I?"
Smoke from the chimney
The Ruins of White-O-Mornin
"How do I look?"  "You look fine"
"I'm permitting this man to court me sister.....but under the usual conditions."
