This Indenture made this first day of August in* the year of our Lord eighteen hundred & eleven--
Between William Brady of Boone County & State of Kentucky of the one part & Samuel Hewey of the sayd State and County aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth, that whereas the said William being seased and Possessed* [See Note] of a Considerable estate personable and being indebted to a considerable amount, to wit to the said Samuel one hundred dollars and to Ben Taylor three hundred and ninety dollars all of which is to be paid by the first day of January eighteen hundred and fifteen, and from the often infurmities of the said William and for the benefit of the above sayd creditors and wishing that his said Should become subject to the payment of sayd Debts and thinking his personal estate sufficient to discharge the above debts if prudently managed hath for that express purpose. this day & year a bove writin. hath bargained & sold unto the said Samuel. all the personal estate now belonging to the said Wm consisting. Horses. five head Sheep a leaven head horned Cattle. a leaven head. three feather beds and furniture with all other Houshold and Kitchen furniture & farming tools too tedious to mention. and the said Samuel. hereby taking on him. the performance of the payment of the above so far as the sayd. property. will discharge the Sayd Debts/ & in consideration thereof the sayd. Wm doth by these presents bargain sell & confirm unto the said Samuel all the within named property and doth Vest in the sayd Samuel all his the sayd.*[page 482] Wm Right tittle in trust and claim in & to the Within mentioned personal estate for the purpose within named in consideration which of we set our hands and seals this day & year first written

�Seized and Possessed� is the legal phrase for �to own�. Seized means �The status of legally owning and possessing real estate.� But real estate does not seem to have been included here. The original of this term is seisin �Possession of real property under claim of freehold estate.� There are ten different kinds of seisin. (Black�s Law Dictionary)
