| Prevention tips during trip |
| During your stay in Bolivia, it's recomendable to prevent in accident that's why we are opening this site to prevent you of possible dangers. As in Bolivia in the last 3 weeks we are suffering a terrible and unusual rain season, its causing several problems not only in big cities such as La Paz, but in the rural area. It's strongly recommended not to walk along rivers or Titicaca Lake, as there is a possibility that water flow could carry you away from your final destination. As it is raining quite hard in the Altiplano, some of the roads have been blocked by the rivers nearby. Some of this places are Zongo, Guanay, Achacachi, Puerto Acosta and so on. This means that soon there might not be an easy access to some touristic areas such as Rurrenabaque, Zongo or even Yungas valley by road. Despite of its security, La Paz city seems to be a dangerous place during rain season. A year ago a river cut accros all over the main avenue and killed more than 65 people and this year 4 people died. To prevent accidents in such circumstances it would be a good idea to come back to your hotel, as soon as a rain last more than 20 minutes and even more if the storm appears at the north of the city. |
