Fawn went to Africa for a time, with the peace corps, after graduating magna cum laude from NAU. She is studying for her master's degree in Agriculture, in California.

For a time she lived in Arkansas, where she had a fire in her apartment:
"...about my fire: Everything is fine, nothing got burned, just lots of water and smoke damage. Things seem to be cleaning up alright, though. I moved this past week, found a smaller, but much nicer place for about the same rent...nice neighborhood, big front porch, quiet street, decent neighbors in the building. It was quite an experience to watch our building in flames, but luckily nobody was hurt. I have made a good friend through the ordeal, too, my former neighbor...it is nice to be able to have somebody here that is going through the same thing as well. I am coming home this coming week, but don't know if or when I'll make it to Prescott. If I do get down there for any amount of time, I'll give a call. Hope all is well." -from Fawn, November 2002.

Hi Bob, We had tornadoes about a week before Christmas. That was wild. They only touched down in a few places around here, but the weather it brought was crazy - overcast and rainy, but like 70 degrees outside, 60 at night, for 2 or 3 days. and then culminating in thunderstorms and tornado warnings. I enjoy the weather out here, anything but monotonous...every couple of days it changes...sunny, rainy, cloudy, cold, sunny, etc. No real snow (a little bit mixed in with the rain). Take care!-Jan 6, 2003.

Hello everyone,
I'm sorry this is not more personal, but I just don't have the time or energy to write to you all individually. I am writitng to tell you all that my father passed away last night. He'd been battling pneumonia for the past 10 days and, probably through some type of complication, was unable to fight it off. I've been told that, of course, he died peacefully, and beyond that, he really was suffering while he was alive. Surely no one could wish him to endure more. I had intended to move to Oregon to be closer to him by the end of this summer, but no longer plan to do that. I am living in Little Rock still, working in a local garden center and also working from home, and I am riding life out for a bit, trying to see where the river turns next in my life. I'm sorry that it has been so long since I have communicated with you, and I'm sorry that news like this has to break the silence. I do think of you all often, and hope things in your life are all going well. Despite the sad turn of events, I feel contented, and hope I can find the time to keep up with everyone a little better than I have been.
Peace,
Fawn
