Ingmar Ernst Bergman (born the son of a priest, on July 14, 1918, at Uppsala, Uppsala l�n, Sweden- died July 30, 2007, F�r�, Gotlands l�n, Sweden) has been married five times, but none of his wives were actresses. His first two wives were dancers, his third wife a journalist, his fourth a concert pianist, and his fifth a countess. Bergman had one or more children by each of his first four wives-a total of seven children in all. His 24-year marriage to his fifth wife, Ingrid Karlebo, produced no children, and Ingrid's death in 1995 left Bergman a widower. The actress, Liv Ullman is his daughter.The film and TV-series, Goda viljan, Den (1992) is biographical and shows the early marriage of his parents. The film S�ndagsbarn depicts a bicycle journey with his father. In the TV-mini series, Enskilda samtal (1996) the trilogy is closed. Here, as in Den Goda Viljan Pernilla August plays his mother. Note that all three movies are not always full true biographical stories. He began his career early with a puppet theatre which he, his sister and their friends played with. But he was the manager. Strictly professional, he began writing in 1941.
