Bob Deakin Foundation
Mission Statement
"To assist individuals and families coping with terminal illness and provide positive life experiences to youth."
The Bob Deakin Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization established by the Deakin Family to honor Bob, who died of cancer in 1994.  Through advocacy, fundraising and philanthropy, the Foundation hopes to achieve its objectives of assisting individuals and families coping with terminal illness as well as providing positive life experiences for youth.

Bob Deakin, a career insurance agent and former PGA golf touring and club professional, was a devoted family man with a great sense of humor, a positive spirit and a zest for life.  He was very passionate about his faith in God, his family, his love for the game of golf and  service to his community.  We believe the Charity Golf Classic embodies all of these aspects of Bob's life while it demonstrates the Foundation's commitment to raise awarness and financial support for important groups such as Hospice.

The foundation raises money to support these causes through an annual
golf tournament as well as other area functions.  The golf tournament, held in Raleigh, NC every June, has contributed several thousand dollars to date to the Carolinas Center for Hospice and End of Life Care.
