| BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! Gerard groaned and hit the snooze button. He rolled over and put his head under the covers. "GERARD ARTHUR WAY!! YOU'D BETTER BE WAKING UP! I HERD YOUR ALARM!" Donna yelled. Gerard sighed, still not opening his eyes. "I PRESSED SNOOZE!!" "YOU KNOW THAT YOU NEVER GET UP WHEN YOU PRESS SNOOZE! ONE PRESS TURNS INTO TWO, TWO TURNS INTO THREE UNTIL YOU HAVE FIVE MINUTES TO GET READY!! NOW GET UP!!" Gerard groaned again and rubbed his eyes. He sat up and turned his alarm off. The phone next to his alarm rang and he picked it up. "Hello?" "Wake up G, I can here you snoring from my house," Ray said. "Can you give me a ride? Someone flattened my tires last night." "Yeah, I'll be there at seven," He said with a yawn. "K, thanks." "Alright, see you then. Bye." "Bye." He clicked the phone off and rolled out of bed. |

| Gerard came downstairs with his uniform on and sat at the kitchen table. He started eating an apple, too lazy to walk three steps to the pantry and fridge and make cereal.
Mikey dragged his feet downstairs and grabbed a banana. "We're giving Ray a ride." "Alright, I'll sit in the back then." "Dad already leave?" "He always leaves at 6:30, it's 6:45." "Right." They grabbed their backpacks at five to seven and walked towards the door. "Bye Mom!" They yelled. "Have a good day dears!" |

| Ray sat on his porch and checked his watch. Two to seven. Charlotte came out of the house next door and yawned. She walked to her car and sighed at her flat tires. "Hey Ray," She said, walking over to him.
"Hi Charlotte." "Someone flattened my tires last night, wonderful way to start the day." "Same here, I think they got everyone on the block who didn't park in the garage." "So are you just going to sit here?" "Waiting for Gerard to give me a ride." "Cool," she said. BEEP! BEEP! Gerard pulled over in front of Ray's house. Charlotte walked with him to the sidewalk. "Morning Gerard, Morning Mikey," she said as Ray got in the front seat. "Hey Charlotte. Why are you still here?" "Flattened my tires too." "Hop in the back, I'll give you a ride." "Thanks." She walked around to the back and once she closed her door Gerard away from the house. "I hope whoever's flattening the tires doesn't come to our neighborhood," Gerard said. "I think it's may have been Mindy or some of her friends," Charlotte said. "You always blame Mindy for everything," Ray said. "She always blames me for everything." "Do you really think she's capable of that?" Gerard said. "You just can't imagine her doing that cause you haven't lived next-door to her for 16 years. 16 long horrible years," Charlotte said. Charlotte's family had moved to New Jersey from California when she was two-years-old. Since then her mom had acquired a light Jersey accent. "It can't have been that bad," Gerard said, secretly wishing that he was the one living next door to Mindy. "It was that bad. You like her don't you?" By not saying anything, Gerard might as well have screamed,"YES!!" "I'm sorry, it's none of my business," Charlotte said after about twenty seconds of silence. "It's alright." Gerard pulled into a parking space and they got out of the car. "Thanks for the ride Gerard," Charlotte said. "Do you need a ride home?" "Nah, I'll walk with Tracy. Thanks though." "Are you sure?" "Yes." "'K, see you second period." She waved and walked towards the main entrance to the school. Tracy walked up to her friend who had just opened her locker. "Hey, you got here a little late," Tracy said. "Someone flattened my tires," Charlotte replied. "Ooh..." Tracy said,"Um, well, my brother and his idiot friends may have had something to do with that...." "Hit him for me later." "He'll hit me back. Did you have to walk?" "No, Gerard gave me a ride. He was picking up Ray, you're brother got to his car too." Charlotte got out her eyeliner pencil and looked into her mirror. She fixed her eyeliner and lightly rubbed her green eye. "The black in my hair faded," Tracy complained, looking at the tips of her hair that used to be jet-black, but were now light brown like the rest of her hair. "You're hair is still nice," Charlotte said, putting her eyeliner pencil back in her bag and closing her locker. "You're lucky, you have straight hair." Charlotte's brown hair was much darker then Tracy's. It was also thicker and straighter. Tracy's hair was straight until about halfway down it became wavy. "But with straight hair you have to make sure you brushed it right otherwise you can see every little flaw." "Whatever. Math Quiz Today." "Don't remind me. I really don't want to fail another math quiz." "Me neither." The five-minute bell rang. "See you next period," Charlotte said, walking towards her social studies class as Tracy walked to Chemistry. "See you." |
