Born in St. John's, Newfoundland, I grew up in Conception Bay South and moved to Happy Valley-Goose Bay, Labrador in 1976. I began my varied work experience working in a greenhouse as a child, making licence plates as a teenager, and working in retail department stores, supermarkets and restaurants before beginning my career in administration.

       Having continued my education at the District Vocational School, Memorial University Extension Services, KeyIn Technical College and the College of the North Atlantic, I then worked with provincial government, private companies, and a federal corporation in various administrative positions.

      In September 2002, I returned to college where I studied as a Computer Support Specialist, and graduated with honors in May 2004.

      I currrently teach contract computer courses at the College of the North Atlantic and freelance in administrative and computer support, writing, speaking and painting.
