The Bible has been called most important book in western civilization. It consist of two parts: the Old Testament consisting of stories, laws and beliefs of the anceint Hebrew people, mainly collected before 600 BC, and the New Testament which is the stories told by Jesus Christ corrected by his disciples. The basic message of the Bible is that God is greater being than man. All mankind is equal and no race is better than another. Man is basic bad but can become good by follow the word of God, e.g. the Ten Commandments or the teachings of Jesus Christ. To understand a Bible helps us to see why western people thinking as they do. |
