Charles: Hello, Rodney. (Greeting) This is Charles Newman here. (Identifying)

Rodney:
Charles! What a surprise! (Expressing surprise) How are you? Where are you calling from?  (Inquiring)

Charles: I'm here in London. (Reporting location)

Rodney: And the family with you? (Inquiring)

Charles: We all came this time. Arrived on Tuesday. (Reporting) Still a bit jetlagged. (Expressing discomfort)

Rodney: I can imagine. (Sympathizing) What's the time difference between London and Tokyo, twelve hours? (Inquiring)

Charles: Nine. (Correcting) And eighteen hours stuck in a plane. (Adding) No fun at all. (Expressing discomfort) Anyway, we want to see you while we're here. (Expressing a wish)

Rodney: Definitely!  (Agreeing) How about tonight? (Suggesting) Come over for dinner. (Inviting)

Charles: Very nice of you. (Appreciating) Sure it's not inconvenient? (Checking, Expressing anxiety)

Rodney: Not at all. (Reassuring) We're looking forward to seeing you again. (Reassuring) How long has it been? (Recollecting)

Charles: Three years. Just on three years since we were last here. (Recollecting)
