Function Analysis

Feng shui, sometimes called (defining) geomancy in English, may be defined as (defining) the Chinese art of designing a harmonious environment. One example is that (exemplifying) you should not be able to see through a house from the front door because good forces can pass right through. Another principle (exemplifying) is that stairs shouldnt lead down to the front door or wealth will flow out. A beam crossing a bed increases the chance of injury. On the other hand, (contrasting) a beam lying lengthways across the bed warns of separation or divorce. About 50% of (approximating) Taiwanese believe in these feng shui principles and around 80% (approximating) in Hong Kong. Even (emphasizing) Chinese settling in California are starting to build houses based on feng shui principles. It may be that (predicting) in future non-Chinese will start building according to feng shui principles!
