4/00 Our first contact with WOOD came on 3/13/00 when they warmed up for Susan Tedeschi at the Rochester Auditorium Center in Rochester, NY. Once again, this show reinforced the importance of getting to the show in time to check out new and talented artists working hard to share their wares.
I am particularly impressed by their instrumentation. They provide a wide range of sound from beautifully written ballads to more rocking tunes. James Maddock treated us to the steel, folk and electric guitar intermixed with an excellent voice and harmonica. Bill Newsinger also plays an awsome Mandolin. Their talent and energy is something to see and I encourage everyone to see their performance.
I had the opportunity to meet these guys from England following the show. They seem to be a personal bunch and took the time to meet and talk with the fans. In today's wide ranging styles of music, it is something special when your taste in great music is shared by your teenage daughter.
If you are a "Dawson's Creek" fan, you may have heard "Stay You" or "Knock it on the Head" during a recent episode. |
