More thoughts …

August 3, 2002 will always remain one of the memorable days in my life.   I was so happy the day

I received Kilou's letter and called her right away.  We talked three times that day and several

times more afterwards.  We've had marathon calls talking about different topics.

When we talked about the reunion, I was a little bit apprehensive since I haven't seen anybody for

a long time.  But after having the mini reunion with Dina, Cynthia N., Cindy, Marj and Rina, I figured

I'll always have somebody to talk to since they're going.  And if I felt uncomfortable, I'll just leave.

Boy, was I so wrong!  The minute I got out of the car, I already heard people screaming at me.

Then it was pandemonium. I had so much fun talking to everybody, watching the kids swimming, eating,

posing for pictures, just being there.  I felt bad I wasn't able to talk much to some friends but I'm

glad I came and met all of you again.  When I watched Dina's video, it seems like I had a couple of drinks.

Up to now, I still can't believe how Kilou got me to dance.  Whenever I look at the pictures, it brings

good memories. I'm glad I belong to Kulasa Batch '81.

Go Lakeeeers!  Ooooooooopppsss, I did it again.  I'm sorry.... Go Kulasa!!!!  Please Annette, no gunut!!

It’s been more than 2 months now since our August reunion, but up to now, everything’s still fresh in my mind.

I still could hear the laughter we all shared.  I’m really glad I came to this reunion because I know that

I’ll be missing a lot if I didn’t.

Let me share my story how I got to keep in touch with our other 3 batchmates (Dang, Kilou and Lhen).

I enrolled in Alumni.net early part of last year.  I was so excited then because when I enrolled, it gave me a

list of all our batchmates who were already in the group.  I emailed Dang, Lhen, Amy Palo, Kilou and a few

more of our batchmates (sorry akalingwan ku na nung ninu pa). Amy was the first one to answer my email,

then Dang, then Lhen and then Kilou).  I was so happy to hear from them since I haven’t talked or seen any

one of them for 20 years.  It was at this time that I got to talk to Lhen who was still in New Jersey then.

Lhen was the one who gave Dang’s telephone number.  I didn’t know that they’ve been in contact for so long.

I also didn’t know that Dang and Kilou were related.  They have been talking regularly before I got into the

picture.  So every now and then, we get to talk on the phone before Dang formed our egroup (magaling ya kasi

king computer).  Dang called us (me, Lhen and Kilou) through conference call and that’s how the e-group started.

I’m sure you could visualized that we couldn’t understand each other kasi agnan agnan magsalita (hahahahahaha…….).

When we were done talking…….medyu mangaklak naku, uling king gulisak…… I was all smiles kasi we get to talk

about our kamuritan and kalokwan when we were still teenagers.

On August 3, 2002, I didn’t know what to expect because I know that a lot of our batchmates are coming. I also

know that a lot of them are already very successful in life.  If you were there, (to those who were not able to come)

you wouldn’t know the difference because we all felt we were all equal.  It’s true what Kilou said that we were

no longer competing with each other.  Everybody was so receptive of the other that you’ll feel welcome and loved

by everybody.  I feel proud that I belong to this batch.  I’m looking forward to our 25th anniversary on 2006.

I really hope that everybody will be able to make it because I’m sure you’ll have a great time and memories

to share to everybody.  To all our batchmates,  MABUHAY and see you all on 2006.
