The 50+ program has decided to collect pennies because putting pennies into circulation reduces the need to mine copper for more pennies and saves energy. The goal is to collect 50,000 pennies. Currently we have collected more than 12,500 pennies.
Pennies can be given to a staff person at the center between the hours of 10 and 5 on weekdays.
