I am Known by several names including Owczarek Podhalanski, Polish Mountain Dog, and Tatra Mountain Sheepdog. No matter what you choose to call me, I am a large size dog. My solid white coat is 2-4 inches long and self-cleaning. I am an easy going sort, but I never forget what my main purpose is, and that is protector of the flock, whatever species the flock happens to be! I can fit into different roles and that all depends on how you raise me. I am just as comfortable in the role of a family dog as I am out in the pasture protecting the flock. I don't require as much personal attention as some dogs do. When fully grown, I am between 24 and 34 inches tall (61 to 86.4 centimeters) and I weight between 100 and 150 pounds (45 to 67.5 kilograms).

BlueGrass Boer Farm has 1st generation Tatra LGD's that descend directly from the place of its origin, the Tatra Mountains in Poland. Owning a 1st, 2nd, or at the very most 3rd generation of the dog, the personality traits of the breed are not diluted, they have not lost the Tatra's instinctual characterists or essence by kennel breeding which has in it's view a selection to improve the external appearance only. The Tatra will never abandon it's flock which has been entrusted to it's care, having strong guardian instincts, and responsibility for making their own decisions. Thanks to that, the Tatra dogs living in Poland and Bluegrass Boer Ranch realize their original function through today, for which this breed was created with careful selection a long time ago. Puppies are available on a limited basis with perhaps only two or three litters being whelped per year nationally.
