Aside from uniqueness of the clothing, I love that it brings together a spirit and excitement among pe ple who may have nothing else in common. I fell in love with Blue Fish a number of years ago when doll artist, Patti Culea, came to teach here in Kissimmee. Had no where to buy it until I went to work and my Boss & I became the Blue Fish Queens. I spend most of my earnings on Blue Fish. I ha to give up my job at the end of '99 because my husband has a brain tumor. I discovered Ebay in March of this year & have been buying & selling. I still catch the sales at my old workplace and buy, buy, buy... I put the excess up on Ebay to share with o hers who don't have ready access to Blue Fish.

My first impression of Blue Fish in 1994 was that it was beautiful but expensive. Finally I bought my first pieces of Blue Fish which included the acadia jumper (Sp97) and 2 salt water taffy jumpers (melon and violet). After my purchase, I called Blue F sh often and asked "Do people really wear these clothes?" For the amount of Blue Fish that gets sold in the Rochester, NY area in which I live, I do not see it worn very often. Nevertheless, like any other Blue Fish fan, you wonder how you ever got alon without it. I have about 200 pieces of Blue Fish and have recently decided not to buy much more until I start wearing what I have. Two of my favorite collections were the spring and the autumn 1998; I love the leafhopper jumpers from the botanical colle tion and the autumn jackets and dresses with all the beautful leaves on individual patches. I have gone to many of the "friends and family sales", the first four I went to in Syracuse, Buffalo, and Frenchtown (1997-1998) were wonderful. Subsequent sales in Syracuse (1999 and 2000) have left me with a feeling " Why do I bother with this Blue Fi h obsession." I think I rather pay the extra money and enjoy the occasional visits to Frenchtown and Doylestown that subject myself to the sales anymore. It's not worth the emotioal trauma. I feel sorry for the sales associates and the disregard for th clothing by the customers is inexcusable. I will always enjoy the "Blue Fish phoenomena" and I have enjoyed exchanging e-mail with many women I have met on e-bay, and I wish all Blue Fish women" can continue to enjoy their outfits and the joy it gives them Susan I won one of the blue fish contests which was to draw your blue fish journey on a postcard.

I love bluefish!! It's just that simple, I keep hearing alot of negative comments about the recent lines, but I always find something I love, and it always goes well with my older pieces. Love the linen this spring,,espically the blue mineral, have worn i alot and washed it alot and I think the quality is better than a few yrs. back. I love Blue Fish because it helps express my love of the unique! I disagree that it is comfortable and looks inexpensive....it is super comfortable and looks expensive...the printing and painting are obviously hand done, and the cut and fit and design of the clothing is obviously well done and only found with expensive clothing. Blue Fish can make almost (haha) anyone look wonderful! I like all my stuff on the funky wild and wacky side and the older I get the less I care about what is "normal", and the ore I want to break all the rules!!!! I think ebay is a great forum for buying and selling, whether it is new with tags from the current season to dregs of the tent sale with big splotches.....one woman's junk is another one's treasure. If someone wants something badly enough to pay 3 or 4 times what it is worth, then more power to the seller! A lot of people don't have the access to outlets or even stores or the catalog and just fall in love with something they see! It's the great American free enterp ise system at work! Sure the outlet stuff is usually not as gorgeous as the stuff from Frenchtown, but some people are willing to settle for good instead of fantastic because fantastic sometimes carries too high a price tag for some people. I sometimes etect an air of snobbery or snob "wannabes" in the Blue Fish ranks as if selling stuff on ebay is somehow (sniff sniff) a little beneath a true Blue Fish queen...what a shame! A really creative person and lover of the artistry and pizzazz of blue fish wo ld be mixing and matching with their odd pieces picked up at the Good Will. Art is beyond pricetags..... have you ever gotten a piece of Blue Fish and then added some of your own art work on to it? Hey, I even found some Eileen Fisher at Good Will! Lov it!!!!!!! Don't get too stuck on only Blue Fish.....there's a lot of other really cool stuff out there and you become the blue fish equivalent of the Gappy kakhi yuppie if you become one dimensional! That's my Blue Fish philosophy and philosophy on lif rolled into one! I do love Blue Fish stuff and hope they keep coming up with some new funky different stuff! See ya at Tinnicum.

Linda, Thank you for the web page. I have worn almost nothing but Blue Fish for the last seven years. Besides BF there are only a few pieces of flax and two black eileen fisher dresses in my closet. The eileen fisher is only for funerals. My BF came or ginally from craft sales (my best pieces but now just about washed to bits), then the catalogue, next a local boutique, and then the Blue Fish stores and outlet. Some pieces were %75 off the original price, many %50 off and probably seventy percent of wh t I own was bought on sale. In response to your "view" of 4/1, I had never even looked at eBay until I saw it mentioned on your website. I don't think I would ever buy from eBay just based on what I have observed over the last two weeks. Over and Over i ems have sold for two or three times what I just spent on the same piece ordered from a store, catalogue, or outlet sale. (I just got a tadpole jumper for $14.99 from the outlet) This is just not smart shopping. One of the original attractions of Blue ish for me was that these were such wonderful clothes that did not look expensive. With regard to your comments about keeping Blue Fish secret: I have been responsible for quite a few new BF customers. I want BF to stay in business! When I bought a long wool coat (on sale!) last winter, a good friend, armed with the ordering info I had given her, called and got the same color and style. An acquaintance, to whome I gave a catalogue, ordered the canyon cardigan (on sale!) when she saw mine and then became a regular customer. When people ask me about my clothes, I always tell them where they can be purchased AND to wait for a sale! I began carrying old catalogues with me when I travel, since in airports someone always asked about what I was wearing. My h sband (not exactly an extrovert) once wondered why I didn't just tell these, in his opinion busybodies, that my clothes are handmade, or alternatively request some kind of commission from Blue Fish for all the new business. (I actually tried for the comm ssion idea, but they seemed to think I was nuts at the main BF office) Three of my cousins (non-customers) bought BF stock when it was available (they seemed to be investing in my buying habits), but I did not since it seemed to me the end was in sight f r this company. BF has changed so much since I began buying. Does anyone remember when only Lynn was at the catalogue? And she kept a file on you? And Sue used to send me boxes of craft sale merchandise and only charge my credit card after I had picke out what I wanted and sent the rest back. All the employees now are nice (especially Reetha), but things are just a lot different now that BF has grown so. The clothes are not as interesting; the block prints are skimpier and recycled from previous yea s; and for several catalogues in 97 and 98 the prices were just ridiculously out of line. To me the linen line from this spring just looks like BF knock-offs. I feel a definite love/hate relationship at this point. But as my mother commented "What on e rth will you do if they go out of business? You have so much of this stuff."

I've always lived in apartment houses, which gives rise in my mind to the inevitable question of how all the other apartments with our layout are decorated! That's kind of like Blue Fish. How many ways are there to combine all the hundreds of pieces of B ue Fish out there--how many outfits could one come up with????? What an overwhelming idea!!!! Oh my --- I'll bet if we all got together wearing BF not one outfit would be repeated! Imagine a meeting of the BF fan club with hundreds of attendees all dressed up in our BF. What a spectacular sight that would be!!!

I discovered Blue Fish a few years ago while vacationing on Sanibel Island in Florida. Soon afterwards, I realized that I live right in the middle of Blue Fish country with the Frenchtown, Doylestown and Reading stores all easily reached by car within an our and a half. I've been a regular customer and a devoted Blue Fish fan ever since. And what wonderful friends and fellow Blue Fishers I've gotten to know! Hope to see you all at Tinicum Park!

Where I buy my BF: I used to buy it at Nordstrom until they stopped carrying it. Then someone, to whom I am eternally grateful, I think,, recommended eBay (vintage Blue Fish heaven)!
Height / hair color: 5 feet and shrinking/brown and graying "beautifully" according to my mother!
