PREFACE

The flag belonged to Howland & Aspinwall, famed New York merchants of yesteryear. Mr. Aspinwall was known for undertaking daring business ventures and even built the Panama Railroad, which still remains in business to this very day.

In that same rich tradition of achieving great things, C. Kenneth Aspinwall of LaGrange, Georgia has launched an ambitious project known as the Southern Music Association. The intentional goal of the SMA has already gotten underway, as Lewis Moore has entered into collaboration with Aspinwall. They are currently calling out musicians and writers in the central western area of Georgia and the adjoining area in East Alabama.
