Step 5 - Walk proud!

Though it has become quite fashionable in some political circles, and Lord knows we're filling the heads of impressionable kids with it, the great American guilt trip has got to stop! The fact that we as Americans enjoy the rewards of our hard work and heritage, there is absolutely no reason to feel guilty that we have more than people in other parts of the world. WE ARE NOT ALL THE SAME, WE CANNOT ALL GET ALONG, AND THAT'S JUST THE WAY IT IS AND ALWAYS WILL BE. A recent guilt-ridden article by a successful young alumni from my son's alma mater has inspired step 5. After busting her butt to reap the rewards of her efforts, a humanitarian trip to a third world country has left her pledging guilt for the rest of her life. In the words of one great American, America is the solution to the world’s problems. We are not the problem. Walk proud!
