Step 3 - Protect your time

Have you ever found yourself in the middle of a heated office email conversation, while on vacation, during your evening at home with your family, Saturday at the ballfield with the kids, or when you are sharing a night out with family or friends? Come on folks, this is your time and you are not being paid anywhere near enough to be a 24/7 schlep for the company. "Crackberries" and email are truly technological wonders, but when it comes to your own time, being old school is cool. Emergencies are always an issue, and sometimes you have to step up, but this perpetual personal importance and access has gotten way out of hand. I assume this is why we see all these idiots driving down the road on their cellphones, but frankly, any personal interaction that I have had with these self-indulgent narcissists informs me that their critical communications are more bedroom than boardroom.
