Random Acts of Mindlessness
Random ramblings of a MAWG (Middle Aged White Guy)
I'm tired of doing "the right thing"
I'm tired of doing "the right thing".

For nearly all of my 51 years, I have done the right thing. Save for that one time in 1980, after I had just graduated from college, got married, and moved to Georgia, when voting for the former Governor seemed to be the right thing...NOT!

While my hard-working life has certainly reaped rewards, I have become completely frustrated with the do nothing nature of our government. Considering myself extremely fiscally conservative and socially moderate to even liberal on some issues, the perpetual drain on the rewards of my hard work, for the sake of the "less fortunate" or some righteous cause, has become more than I can tolerate. We have had every combination of political balance between Democrats and Republicans in place during the last 30 years, yet the promises of progress remain only in the pages of the upcoming election.

The appeasement of every politically motivated group (illegal immigrants, gays, Christians, women, environmentalists, historical preservationists, animal rights, and whatever) has led to nothing more than stagnation of the greatest culture in the history of the planet. In short, you can't make them all happy and we can't all get along, but we need to make progress!

I want change, and not the Obama change, I want a changing of the guard. It's time to throw out everyone currently holding office, who give us nothing but excuses for not making progress, and get some new blood in the loop. From dog catcher to President, it's time to send the incumbents packing!
