They say the freaks come out at night and as the rest of middle class suburbia
sleeps tucked up in their beds dreaming about the day that has just ended the
freaks among us come alive, ready to soak in the night under the constant glare
of the stars. The sun had barely disappeared from sight as Kendell walked out
the door of the large estate that was her family’s multi million dollar
property. She was dressed for the night ahead, her long legs accentuated in a
short leather skirt which barely scraped the top of her thighs, her top half
equally as seductive in a tight black corset which just stopped her from
spilling out over the top of it. Her long, dark hair fell in waves over her
shoulders, her eyes painted for the night and her lips blood red. She pressed
the button on her car keys unlocking the beautiful brand new Lamborghini and
sending both the passenger and driver’s door swinging upwards.
Jeff: “Drink driving, will you never learn.”
He said it with a smirk, knowing the irony in
correcting Kendell about anything she did. Kendell just looked at him and
shrugged as he sniggered, before sliding her slender, muscular physique into the
driver’s seat and pulling the door shut behind her. Jeff followed her lead,
pulling himself into the passenger side of the car and barely getting to put his
seat belt on before Kendell revved the engine of the car, almost throwing them
both backwards.
Jeff: “Jesus, take it easy or we won’t make it to the
fucking place.”
Kendell Smith: “Oh stop whining Jeff.”
Jeff: “I’m not whining I’m simply saying it’s obvious
you’ve spent most of your life chauffeured around by your father’s driver.”
Kendell just scoffed, pretending she didn’t hear
his little dig at her. Tonight wasn’t a night for arguing; tonight was a night
for celebration after her win over Hitman. She still felt like she was living in
this surreal bubble. She knew she could do it but actually seeing the gold in a
glass cabinet in her locker room brought a genuine smile to her face. She had
spent most of that previous week celebrating her win and tonight was no
different as she planned to meet a friend before her tag match and practice the
only way she knew how. Looking at the clock on the dash of the car she realised
she was losing valuable drinking time, she pushed her foot down on the
accelerator sending the high performance sports car lurching forward at illegal
road speeds as Billy Idol’s ‘Rebel Yell’ thumped from her expensive sound
system.
Jeff: “Why are we rushing? You don’t have the meet him
for nearly another hour.”
Kendell Smith: “You know me, I like to be early.”
Jeff: “Actually you usually like to make a fashionably
late entrance.”
Kendell Smith: “What’s your problem tonight Jeff? Somebody toss you off wrong?
Or are you just jealous because you no longer get the majority of my attention.”
This put a stop to his feeble attempts at
belittling her. It was no secret had had a thing for Kendell since they where
both in high school, however despite his wealth and good looks her had never
been what Kendell was looking for in a man. She had used him time and time again
for her own sexual pleasure and discarded him like yesterday’s rubbish just as
fast. Despite this he was still the closest thing to a best friend that she had.
Because of his obsession with her he let her wipe her feet in him time and time
again without as much as a moan which suited Kendell fine. She pulled the car up
to a large, warehouse looking building, numerous extravagant looking cars lined
up outside. She smiled up at the building as she brought the car to stop, the
stereo system turning itself off as she pulled the keys from the ignition and
raised the large driver side door, stepping out of the sleek sports car onto the
oil stained asphalt. She ran her long black painted nails through her hair,
brushing it out of her face before throwing the keys to her Lamborghini into the
hands of the valet standing by. Jeff followed close by as she made her way up to
the large entrance to the building. Numerous people dressed in leather and
chains stood outside, their hair a mix of every color in the rainbow and
piercings in places God never intended to have holes. As she walked in she was
almost overwhelmed by the loud banging of drums and intense atmosphere
surrounding her.
From the ceiling hung large metallic hoops and from the large metallic hoops
hung scantily clad women, with pieces of material barely hiding their shame as
they defied gravity, swinging from the hoops fifty foot above the ground. Cages
where strewn around the large abandoned factory, holding inside more people in
leather dancing despite their wrists being bound to the cage with shackles. It
wasn’t a place for the closed mind but as Jeff and Kendell walked through
towards the bar they never batted and eyelash.
The bar wasn’t our conventional bar either, on top of the laid out wooden
counter which stretched from one side of the ware house to the other where naked
men and women dancing to the heavy rock music which infected them all. On the
bar, the bartenders lay out hundreds of glasses of foreign alcohol to keep the
attendees happy. Kendell picked up one and lowered it back. It was strong and
taste like whiskey and vodka, not something she would have chosen to drink but
she either drank it or drank nothing. She glanced down at her watch.
He should be here soon.
As soon as she thought it she felt her cell phone
vibrate against here hip. She looked down at the phone which was attached to the
waist band of her leather skirt. She slipped it off and looked at the front
screen. It was him. Realising she wouldn’t be able to hear a word he as saying
in midst of the crowd of hundreds and the noise of heavy rock music she decided
to make her way to the toilets.
Kendell Smith: “I’ve to go make a phone call. Cut me a line for when I get
back.”
Jeff: “What?!”
Kendell Smith: “I said cut me a line! I’m the toilet.”
Jeff: “Oh right, I’ll wait here for you so.”
He continued to stare up at the gothic looking
girl with fake breasts dancing on the bar in front of him as Kendell raised an
eyebrow, men, they where all the same. She began pushing her way through the
large crowd in hopes of getting somewhere a little quieter or at least somewhere
where she could hear herself think. Surprisingly enough there wasn’t a long
queue to the toilets and Kendell pushed past whoever was in the queue without a
word being said. When it came to places like this it was a renowned whom she was
and nobody dared question a thing she did. The toilets were nothing you would
have expected them to be. They where spotlessly clean and a person stood at each
basin ready to hand out soap, perfumes or other toiletries. This wasn’t any
underground party, this was the playground of the elite, a twice yearly event
held for the richest and most elite in the United States. It was mostly filled
with the children of the rich and famous, here spending daddy’s money on drink,
drugs and sex.
She pushed her way into a stall and took out her cell phone again. Two missed
calls from him. She redialled the number and listened to it ring and ring and
ring. Almost ready to give up she took the phone away from her ear until she
heard a voice.
Man: “Hello?”
Kendell Smith: “Hey, can you hear me?”
Man: “Where the hell are you?”
Kendell Smith: “I’m here, I’m in the toilets calling you but I’ll meet you at
the back where the bar is.”
Kendell clicked her phone closed and slipped it
back onto the waistband of her leather skirt, swinging open the door and walking
to one of the basins to look in the mirror.
Girl: “Kendell? Oh my god Kendell is that you?”
She didn’t even have to turn around, she
recognised the voice. It was like nails being dragged down a chalk board, so
shrill it almost made her ears bleed. Kendell looked into the mirror so she
could see behind her. She was indeed right.
Kendell Smith: “Hi Jacquelyn.”
Jacquelyn: “Hi Kendell! Long time no see.”
Jacquelyn leaned in and wrapped her arms around
Kendell before she even had a chance to turn away from the mirror. Kendell
forced a smile even though the look of disgust was still obvious in her blue
eyes. Jacquelyn was an old school friend of Kendell’s. They had spent most of
high school in each other’s pockets not because they liked each other but
because it was expected. Both Kendell’s family and Jacquelyn’s family where
wealthy, both girls extremely pretty and in the hierarchy of high school it was
assumed that the rich and pretty must socialize in the same group much to the
dismay of Kendell. Jacquelyn was the daughter of a very famous rock star, which
was originally the reason Kendell had been attracted to being around Jacquelyn
despite the fact that her voice made Kendell’s skin crawl but she had made up
for it by getting Jacquelyn’s father into bed at the tender age of seventeen.
Jacquelyn: “I should have known you’d be here, you
never pass up and opportunity to come to one of these shindigs.”
Shindigs?
Jacquelyn: “So who are you here with?”
Kendell Smith: “Jeff and I’m waiting on somebody.”
Jacquelyn: “Jeff? Oh my gosh! It’s been forever
since I’ve seen him.”
It was no secret that all through high school
Jacquelyn had lusted after Jeff but unfortunately for her he only had eyes for
Kendell and unfortunately for Jeff Kendell only had eyes for men with large bank
balances, and larger…. Arms.
Kendell Smith: “Yea well he’s at the bar.”
Jacquelyn: “Are you two… together?”
Kendell Smith: “No, we’re just friends.”
Jacquelyn: “He never could get past the ice queen
exterior then?”
She said it with a smug smirk. Kendell just
looked back at her, her face unfazed, not allowing somebody like Jacquelyn get
the better of her.
Kendell Smith: “Well you know me Jacquelyn, I haven’t been able to look at
anybody else since I went deep dickin’ with your father.”
Kendell smirked, wishing more than anything that
she had a camera to capture this moment and the look on the face of the over
confident socialite who stood in front of her, it resembled a deer in the head
lights of a car. She didn’t stay for the reply instead she winked at Jacquelyn
and began walking out of the toilets.
Jacquelyn: “You’re still a bitch Kendell!”
Kendell Smith: “I wouldn’t have it any other way Jacquelyn.”
Kendell pushed her way through the queue and back
out into the crowd of people, still dancing away in their designer brand rock
outfits. Ahead of her she could see Jeff, still at the bar lowering down
numerous glasses of the mystery mixture.
Kendell Smith: “Where are the lines?”
Jeff: “Your white horses await you…”
He pointed towards the bar where numerous lines
of cocaine where lined up on the fake mahogany.
Jeff: “Why the sour face? The guy not coming?”
Kendell Smith: “I saw Jacquelyn Seery in the toilets.”
Jeff: “I didn’t know that frigid bitch was still
alive.”
Kendell Smith: “Yea well apparently she is.”
Jeff: “How’s her dad?”
Kendell Smith: “I asked her, but she didn’t seem too happy.”
They both laughed as Kendell took the rolled up
hundred dollar note from Jeff’s hands and leaned down over the counter. In full
view of everybody she sniffed the white powder up into her system, not one
person around her even blinked an eye.
Carlito: “Das not cool…”
Kendell turned, passing the note back to Jeff and
smiling up at her tag team partner who now stood in front of her, his eyebrow
raised and a frown across his face.
Kendell Smith: “Oh please… with a hair cut like that how can you judge anybody
else. Calm down and have a drink.”
Carlito: “We have a match this week.”
Kendell Smith: “This is how I prepare every week and it’s worked for me up until
now so why change what works? After all I am the undisputed champion, a title I
plan to hold on to for a while longer. So I’ll train my way, and you train
yours.”
She passed Carlito a drink, the unimpressed look
on his face fading as he brought the drink to his lips. Kendell followed his
lead picking up a drink from the bar and taking a few sips from it.
Kendell Smith: “So back to business. I know I don’t need to tell you what you’re
up against with me this week, I’m sure you’ve been around the UWF block enough
times to know that this match wont exactly be a piece of piss.”
Carlito: “I know we have this won. Don’t tell me
you’re doubting it?”
Kendell Smith: “Of course I’m not doubting it! Last week I took away Gary
Reece’s title and the week before that I took away Stryfe’s chances. I don’t
think I’ve ever been as confident walking into a match as I will be on Monday
Night. Not only am I at the top of my game but the major majority of our
opponents are not. I mean we have the whole JC, Stryfe, Gary love triangle going
on right in the ring beside us.”
Carlito: “The what?”
Kendell Smith: “Haven’t you been paying attention at all? JC and Stryfe have a
little bastard running around somewhere and Gary is playing daddy dearest in
hopes of getting somebody to love him. I always thought Stryfe was an
intelligent man, and don’t get me wrong you gotta have respect for a man who
held onto a World title for so long but has the guy lost it? He chooses his ex
girlfriend to partner up with him that has to be one of the worst ideas his had
to date. She’s not going to want to take on Gary because of their situation,
where as Stryfe is going to want to beat the living crap out of Gary.”
Carlito: “So we leave the two of them to take each
other out?”
Kendell Smith: “Exactly my Caribbean friend. Tasting Stryfe’s boot might help
Gary forget that I owned his ass in the ring last week and took his precious
belt. It was about time somebody took Gary ‘Mediocre’ Reece off his throne.
Anyway if either of them comes in our direction they’ll just feel the pain they
felt the last time they came in contact with me. I don’t do things by halves as
I’m sure you are aware of.”
She took a long sip from her drink, smiling as
she realised that they really did have the upper hand going into the match.
Carlito: “What about the Gary’s partner?”
Kendell Smith: “We don’t have to worry about Damara; she’s just another bottom
of the card female wrestler. She’s not even worth mentioning.”
Jeff: “Wrestling again…”
Kendell Smith: “If you don’t like it Jeff then fuck off to the gents with one of
the many whores dancing on the bar. Just remember to leave an ounce, after that
I don’t care what you do.”
Looking kinda hurt and very pissed off Jeff
slammed the bag of cocaine down on the bar and disappeared into the crowd.
Kendell smirked, she loved the power she had over his emotions, it made her feel
strong.
Kendell Smith: “So anyway, where was I, oh yea, the match. Well the other team
is Bobby and Icon. Not a team to be messed with either and to make matters worse
they are actually used to working together as a tag team. I’m hoping Icon’s loss
against Stryfe last week has knocked his confidence a bit, either way I’ll be
giving him a taste of things to come when he takes me on one on one at PPV. He
may be cocky as hell but I stopped Stryfe in his tracks and I can do the same to
this cocky juvenile and his tag team partner.”
Kendell held up her drink and smiled at Carlito.
Kendell Smith: “Too team work!”
Carlito smiled back and raised his glass.
Carlito: “To team work!”
