He had experienced this before. With Patricia. Even though she had insisted that he shouldnt worry about the plans, he wanted to help her out. She had smiled and kissed him, whispering her gratitude into his ear.
Watching Celeste brought back all those memories. She had so bashfully taken control of the plans with Nickolas mother at her side. They helped her with the plans, as well as Nickolas.
Only a day before the wedding, Celeste sat with him in the main hall where the wedding would take place. She sighed tiredly after spending most of the morning arguing with Mr. Potters, the cook, about the food. Her head throbbed slightly from it all.
You all right, Nick? she asked, looking up at him. His face was set and his eyes were surveying the room lazily.
Yes, dear, he replied.
Are you sure? You dont look fine, she told him.
He looked at her, his face defined with the beginnings of a temper. I am perfectly fine, why wouldnt I be?
You look troubled, thats all.
I am just tired of being approached by strangers every five seconds. I just want to get this whole preparation ordeal over with.
I understand completely.
You dont.
She asked, confused, How dont I?
You dont know how hard it is to lose someone like Patricia, Nickolas stated.
Of course I do. Where do you suppose my mother is now?
Nickolas gathered her in his arms and put his chin on her shoulder. I am just so worried. I dont mean to scare you or anything, but I just want to make this perfect for you.
Youre doing perfectly fine, Love.
Honestly?
She kissed him once and said, Yes, honestly.
