The next day, AJ went to the hospital again by himself. He didn't see the nurse, his new friend, so he decided to go to the information desk. On his way there, he passed by the operation room. The door was slightly open, so he peeked in to see what was going on. There was a person-a girl-on a stretcher. She was being wheeled in. Her eyes were closed and she was still.
"Can I help you, sir?" The young woman at the desk asked.
"Yeah, um, is there any news about Juliette Sarancelli?" He replied, putting his hands in his pocket.
"One moment, please. I have to check on my computer here." The woman turned her chair and started typing something. Her eyes widened at the result.
"What?" AJ asked half out of curiosity and half out of fear.
"She slipped to a coma about an hour ago. The doctors haven't found out anything about it, but they predict that she'll be in it for a couple of weeks, if not any more," she replied.
"What? She was perfectly fine when they brought her in yesterday!" AJ put his head in his hands, holding back the tears that were about to fall.
"Well, yesterday she was brought in with cuts and bruises, but she did have a concussion and she was unconscious."
"Can I see her or are the doctors doing something?" He choked, his eyes still watering.
"Yeah, but you will have to leave in about half an hour because they have to examine her."
"Okay, thank you." AJ put his hat back on and walked quickly to the memorized number that was in his head. 217, 217, 217, 217, 217, he thought. Finally, when he reached the room, he opened the door slowly.
"Oh my god," he said, looking at her. She had to IVs connected to both of her wrists. Her face was pale, her eyes were closed and her breathing was heavy. He couldn't help but cry at her appearance. She looked horrible, dead. If he couldn't hear her breathing, he would think she was dead.
He sat down on the chair next to her. He just sat there, staring and thinking. What would I do if she stayed in this coma for a long time and she couldn't come on tour with us? Yeah, mom would be there but it wouldn't be the same without Jules. Oh god, please let her be okay, he thought. He took her hand in his and rubbed it gently. He sighed a sigh of fear. He hadn't told the other guys yet. What should I tell the fellas? They would be so upsetprobably more because I hadn't told them the day it happened. Oh lord. AJ put his head back and closed his eyes, trying to hide everything that was frightening threatening him. He tried to think of everything good in the world, and never saying goodbye.
