This is our Story

In July, 1999, my sister received a random on ICQ from a guy in Australia.  He said that he thought it was so cool that he lived in Sydney, Australia and that she lived in Sidney, BC,  Canada.  They talked for a while and then she sent me a message saying I really should talk with this Australian guy, she thought we had some things in common.  I agreed and the rest, as they say,  is history :-)

Steve and I chatted for 3 months, he always seemed to be online when I was.  I started  to talk to his daughter and to know more about his family.  I found out he was originally from England, that he was separated, that he had 2 daughters and a son.   We became very very close friends, but unfortunately he had a girlfriend :-(

Steve started to talk less about his girlfriend and began to call me pet names......  and the gods smiling kindly on me, caused his girlfriend to find greener pastures.  And I was there to pick up the pieces.  On Oct 6,1999, we came to grips with the fact that we had more then friendship going, and told each other our feelings.

We were together constantly on ICQ  and on the Buddy Phone.  We would spend hours just chatting and getting to know each other and each others family.  My sister soon  took over my role as Steve's best friend and he started calling her Sis.

In July 2000, my brother-in-law decided to sell his house, and told me that when it sold he would send me to Australia to meet the man in my life in Real Life.  I flew out on Oct 29 and arrived at Sydney Airport on Oct 31 (which was very strange, as there is no Halloween in Australia).

I was so afraid getting off the plane, so many people had been against me going, what would happen if their cautions came to pass.  I should never have worried, for there to meet me was my love with a dozen yellow roses.  ( I had said to my sister "If he meets me with yellow roses, it is meant to be").  We drove the hour drive to his house, and at every stop light we kissed.  I was so happy.

I lived with him for 3 months and then we both could not stand the idea of me leaving, so I applied and received a 6 month extension.  So I was with my darling Steve, for 9 months.  Within that time we just grew closer and closer and became engaged in April of 2001.  On July 23, I flew home to Canada, found a job, and became very lonely for Steve and very homesick for Australia.  But because two people that love each other can not be kept apart for long, Steve arrived in Canada on May 19.

We were married on August 3, 2002, when my paperwork is ready, I  will return to Australia to live happily ever after with the man of my dreams, My Husband :-)
