Gerolstein-Seirck les Bains 148km

I continued along the Kyll River, through Kyllburg (Photo 0), to Kordel. Kordel is on the Kyll River just before it runs into the Mosel. In order to avoid Trier, I left the Kyll River at Kordel, and crossed over the hills to the Sauer River, on the German-Luxembourg border. The weather improved in the course of the morning, and, cycling along the Kyll River was very pleasant. It was a good road, with little traffic, and a pleasant valley, with forest and a country atmosphere. By the time I hit Luxembourg, the sun had really come out, and it was very warm. I followed the Sauer River down to the Mosel, and joined the main cycling route along the Mosel River (Photos 1 and 2). Being a Sunday with stunning weather, everyone was out cycling, eating icecreams, and sitting out in cafes along the cycling route. I followed the Mosel down into France, and camped in Sierck les Bains, just over the border. I set up my tent on the banks of the Mosel River, with a beautiful, scerenic view, looking out onto the hills on the other side (Photo 1 1 May ).
